August 4, 200818 yr My main problem is that the Enquirer buried this on like page 6 of the Sports section. If he had said something derogatory it would have been on the cover page of the whole Sunday issue. This should have been on the front page of the Sports section at least.
August 4, 200818 yr Appreciate the gesture, but in my opinion, first class players play hard all of the time. First class players seem genuinely interested in all of their teammates, not just a few. First class players take comments by the fans and media in stride and don't let their emotions get the better of them. Was Ken Griffey, Jr. a fantastic player in his prime? Absolutely. Was he a representative of what class in a baseball player should be? I'm not too sure.

August 5, 200818 yr I'll always be a big Ken Griffey Jr. fan. He shows his class once again with the letter above. It's a shame that he was treated so unfairly by some of the Reds fan. In their eyes, he could do nothing right. I'm a huge Ken Griffey Junior fan. He's my favorite player to ever play the game. With that said, watching him jog down the line and loaf after balls in the outfield was painful. Watching him refuse to go the other way when the shift is on & still hit in the 3-hole is unfair. I had mixed emotions when I learned he was being traded. Personally, I'm sad to see him go. It was a dream come true when he came home to Cincinnati. I still wouldn't trade it for anything, but I believe the Reds made a great business move. You can't fault them for that.
August 6, 200818 yr Griffey=:thumb: And Griffey gestures aside, Brantley is the absolute worst, though the Louisville announcer filling in wasn't much better. Marty should go solo. As for Junior, I hope he hits a dozen HRs down the stretch and 90 more over the next three years in Chi-town.
