July 30, 200818 yr It really isn't ---- and if the woman has been educated and knows that she is killing a viable baby it should be prosecuted as premeditated murder. However, if she has not been made aware that she is carrying and getting ready to kill a real baby it should be prosecuted to a lesser degree. (i.e. manslaughter). But you are essentially right, murder is murder, just different degrees. I didn't mention the woman's punishment before because the post asked if the doctor should be prosecuted for murder. The doctor should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, have his licensed revoked and never be able to practice again. What ever happened to the hypocratic oath? But that's just the point...there isn't agreement on when it is a "viable baby." Also, how many women go to an abortion clinic and NOT know that they are pregnant? One last thing - why is it manslaughter and not murder? Again, if I hold my child down while allowing someone to kill him, won't I be charged with murder?
July 30, 200818 yr There is no way that any Christian can stand for abortion. They ususally make you lie on the table and put your feet in the stirrups. He is here all week folks!

Quite frankly, it doesn't matter if others don't agree with it . . . if it is in His Word it is truth and as a Christian it should be my rule of faith and practice. As for prosecution of the mother, I truly would not have a problem with a murder charge being levied. As for the second part, I never said women don't realize they are pregnant so I really don't understand where that is coming from.
July 30, 200818 yr Another thing that gets me is a mother can have an abortion and it is alright with the law.She can be going down the road and get hit and killed along with her unborn child and the driver that hits her gets charged with killing her and also the baby.Doesn't make sense to me at all.

This is what I am not sure of in your post, then. It really isn't ---- and if the woman has been educated and knows that she is killing a viable baby it should be prosecuted as premeditated murder. July 30, 200818 yr See the bolded part below. This is what I am not sure of in your post, then. She doesn't realize that she is carrying a live human being . . . she may have been duped into believing it is just a blob of tissue. I can see how the wording was confusing . . . sorry.
July 31, 200818 yr To me abortion is like when Pharoh commanded babies to be thrown into the Nile. Its just like picking them up and tossing them in.
