PrepNation 101 Preseason Football Countdown

Featured Replies

Our first KY school appears on the list.

Coming in at #70 in the nation...(drumroll.....)

St. Xavier Tigers

No metion of Trinity yet. My guess is they are going to land somewhere between 40 and 60.

In their "51 teams that just missed the cut", we find the following:

  • Highlands (Fort Thomas, Ky.), 15-0 last season: The Bluebirds captured their sixth state title since 1996 and 17th overall last year. Eight starters return led by senior RB Josh Conner (6-0, 208), who ran for 1,724 yards and 31 TDs.
  • Male (Louisville, Ky.), 10-3 last season: Veteran coach Bob Redman (who is two wins shy of 300) welcomes back seven starters on each side of the ball. The group of led by state 100-meters champion Justin Green (6-0, 185, RB/DB), an Ohio State verbal.

Any other KY schools have an argument to be on this list outside of Trinity and St. Xavier? I assume not since they've already included Highlands in their "just missed" category.

Does this national coverage/attention do anything for you KY folks?? For us Buckeyes, it's a fairly big deal. We don't live and die by it but we certainly discuss it and get aggravated if OH isn't given it's due on a national scale.

Thoughts?

I guess that answers my question as to whether or not anyone of you follow this.

Geesh.

I've been following it and I included it (the part about HHS) in my HHS weblog. It seems that Trinity will end up being ranked very high in this poll.

I think this poll is a little more realistic...I'm a homer but their is no way HHS should be #14 in the country in the Cal Preps Poll...

While I agree that 14 is very high, I do think that Highlands should at least be considered in the top 100, and not the top 150.

Your probably right...I was thinking 80-100...:thumb:

Well they are at #28 and still no sign of Trinity. How far up the rankings could they be?

Trinity.....I wouldnt be surprised if they are ranked top 15, if not top 10

^ pretty cool, IFF we are there.

I found it somewhat humorous that under the St. X. review, the PrepNation writer noted that a major question mark for the Tigers in 2008 was inexperience at QB. Matt Brutscher started at QB in four games and played a lot of minutes in the rest, including most of the X/T rivalry game where the Tigers dealt the Rocks a 24-15 loss. QB experience for St. X. is a strength, not a weakness, this season.
