On occasion I've listened to both St X and Trinity coverage on the radio. To say the least I'm not a big fan of the homer-ism. Not so much because they support their teams but because they often project negatively upon their opponents, often suggesting unsportsmanlike behavior and emphasizing the negative aspects of the opponent with little self criticism, it leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

 

I have not listened in a long time. I hate to hear that though - and I agree about the "bad taste" part.

You must be kidding. The sideline reporter doesn't remember who is who at times. The booth reporters have their issues, but who am I to complain, after all, it's a non-paying job.

 

T play with Cincy X....T will beat Cincy X this year....we almost beat them last year, just ran out of gas.

 

I am not kidding at all. I can't speak for the in game work of the sideline reporter but more than once I have heard him do after game interviews and I think he does a fantastic job. On top of all of that, he is a real friendly fellow.

However, I still maintain X used the T game last year to work on some things (much like coaches do in scrimmages) and it nearly cost X because T was too good for X to give anything other than 100%. Here is the LINK where I stated just that after the game and I was not alone in my thinking.

Water is not as expensive as the check you're about to give me...

High school sports has changed a lot over the years. Teams like Cincy St. X are playing more of a national schedule. Trinity and Louisville St. X are traveling more to play top teams in Ohio and Tennesse. Trinity and Lou St. X new stadiums are very nice. Point is, it's great that teams like Trinity and St. X are able to broadcast their games. The FM signal should be better at night.

I can tell you that there was some rumbling last season @THS b/c not enough homer-ism i.e. too much criticism from broadcast team.

 

That being said, what suggestions would BGPers make so that the Rock broadcast would be worth listening to regularly.

 

I'm in the not so critical camp...but mostly, I like what I hear when I can get reception.

No suggestions need to be given on BGP. As you indicated, there was some rumbling last year, but the same people are back up stairs, so the rumbling wasn't loud enough. The sideline guy is goofy at times, but he's the real reason why people listen to the broadcast.
