I heard teams in the south can't practice at all until the day before they play, and only in shorts

 

Most of those states in the south only have about 2, perhaps three weeks of any organized practice. Guess the heat helps speed things up as far as acclimating.

Once again there is a contradiction on what has been sent out. In the KHSAA

Book that is sent out it clearly breaks practices down as contact and non-contact. It says from July 10 - July 14th it is a helmet only period.

From July the 15th until July 21st is a non - contact period, but it is a helmet

and shoulder pad period. If you start school on the 1st of August your full

pad starting date would be July 22.

 

Once again, I feel that something is being sent out that is not the same as

the Hanbook.

You are probably looking at last year's handbook. I don't believe the 08-09 handbook has been distributed yet (aren't they waiting on the SBE and ARRS to approve some other rule changes? Could be wrong about that, but I think I'm right). The rule concerning when you get to wear what equipment changed for this year. Go with what Mr. Tackett sent out in his letter.

The handbook is for 2007/2008. I just wish we would develop a system where

there were no contridition in policy.
