I have absolutely no doubt that many Republicans in Congress and elsewhere(including internet forums) would be willing to face another terrorist attack on the order of 9/11, just to keep Barack Obama out of the Oval Office. They will vehemently say otherwise, but it is true. Their fear and disgust of an Obama White House is strong enough to manifest such views. Sadly, politics trumps national security in the minds of many.

 

There are also plenty of conservatives who "want" Obama to get into the Oval Office to teach Republicans that they need to nominate a true conservative.

If I was John McCain, I'd tell Charlie Black to hit the road. Not because it was insensitive or such, but because I need a political strategist that doesn't say stupid things.

I don't back down in the least from my claims that partisan politics trumps almost everything else. Yes, there are lots of conservatives who would hope for another terrorist attack if it meant keeping the liberal black man out of the Oval Office, and yes, there are plenty of libs who would wish for failure in Iraq that would further repudiate Bush and help their liberal candidate in Nov.
