You must not have watched the same game that I watched. Darius didn't really play that well in my opinion except for about a 5 min stretch in the second half to help extend their lead from 10 to around 20. He made a few key plays in this time period including a bucket, getting to the line, and getting a couple assists. I guess I have just seen him play alot better and I know he is capable of much more. This was a very average game for Darius.

 

I think that the All Star type game doesn't fit his personality very well. He is usually a team-first player, so the "let me get mine" atmosphere isn't where he thrives.

 

I was very impressed with Brown, Mack, and Moses though. Moses held his own in the paint vs. Zeller, and Brown rarely missed from 3 pt range. All in all, a good outing by the KY All Stars.:thumb:

Don't get me wrong, I think he will be awesome at UK. I was just saying that this wasn't close to being one of his best games.

Off game topic, but to show how special it is to play in this game from a 9th Region perspective- Only 34 9th region players have played in this game in its' 67 year history. Holmes has had 7, CovCath 5, Holy Cross 4, Highlands & Dixie 3, NCC, Newport & St Henry 2 and Dayton, Boone Co, Ludlow, Grant, Simon Kenton & Ryle 1.

Both Sorrell & Henderson played well again, although Sorrell didn't shoot well. He was 2 of 8 from the field and missed all three of his threes. Both of them missed 2 free throws which is rare.

They both are great team players, which is exactly what Ky needed to beat Ind. They had 9 guys in double figure minutes and unlike the game at Conseco, no one got out of control offensively.

Sorrell was 2/8 from the field, 2/4 FT, 5 rebounds for 6 points in 21 minutes.

Henderson was 3/6 from the field, 2/4 FT, 4 rebounds for 8 points in 18 minutes.

I thought the same thing. After attending the game Friday night at Conseco, it was embarassing to host them in this building!

Where should the game be played at? I think it would be embarrasing to only have 2,200 fans show up in Freedom Hall. The event would lose money. We had probably the best boys and girls team in years and no one showed up.

Kentucky winning this year helps bring back some flavor and could restore the "rivalry". Next year there will be a Louisville player. Indiana will have a few big name signees in their class such as Van Treese and Byrd.

The courier said 2200 in the paper. 3200 is still not enough to move to Freedom Hall. Broadbent would be the best bet if you can secure a date with all the conventions at the Fairgrounds. The convention center is nice but to costly. The LIT was there a few years back and darn near went broke. The Gardens charges the LIT and the 6th and 7th regions $2,000 a day thats why they have moved to Bellarmine. This event needs more corporate sponsorship so they can properly advertise and sell the game. I was at Mid America for a national AAU event and asked people if they were going to the game and they said "what game!"
