Was this year's group of graduating pitchers the best ever in Kentucky? Looking at the field, there were so many good pitchers and I don't remember their being this many in the same graduating class. To name a few (and please don't get mad if I leave some good ones out because I know that I have) , ...

Kirsten Allen - Miss Softball

Rachel Riley - State Tournament MVP

Abby Sears - 3A POY

Hadley Clark - 2A POY

Brooklyn Jimison - 1A POY

Brittany Mockbee - All State

Jackie Higdon - All State

Emily Gaines - All State

Chelsea Wallace - All State

Larkyn Wood - All State

My question is whether the 2008 Senior Class Pitchers were the best group ever in Kentucky?

Where are these ladies going to school?

Allen signed with Oklahoma

Sears signed with Union

Riley signed with UK (Go Cats)

Jimison signed with LMU

Wood signed with EKU

Dillender (Lafayette - not on list by accident) signed with Campbellsville

Clark signed with University of Southern Indiana

The others I am not 100% sure about if/where they signed. Below is a link to a list of signees from Kentucky high schools. Gaines from South Laurel was only a sophomore, .. however she did set new state records for hits in a season and doubles in a season (if my mind hasn't failed me).

We have been over this and she CHOSE Union (just down the road from home) over bigger schools. As far as their performances, .... I will let the state tourney performances this year speak for themselves as well as what they did against the top teams in the state (whom Sears faced all year, but thanks to the schedule at Ryle and due to no fault of her own, Allen wasn't given that opportunity very often this year until the state tournament). I won't disparage the young lady you cheer for as these are still kids and she is an awesome pitcher without a doubt. I congratulated Allen on her winning as Miss Softball and you have to take shots at the kids who received fewer votes. That is sad.

Show a little class. I was talking about this group as a whole being the best group of pitchers and you have to take a shot at an 18 year old kid? Either you are a teenager yourself or you are just classless. Take your pick.

I wasn't taking a shot at the girl. I was just asking a question. Did Uk or UL offer her a schooly??? Oklahoma is one of the top 10 softball programs in the country. You get my point....apples and oranges!!!!!!! :irked:

Don't even try to act like you aren't taking shots. I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night. I understand she was offered by at least one of those schools and others, but that wasn't the point of this thread. This thread was NOT a comparison between the pitchers or where they were going to college, it was how does this entire class of pitchers rank. You decided to use it to compare them and imply something about a kid. Why not stick to the topic of the thread and not use if for your own personal agenda (whatever that may be). You must have one, why else would you have targeted one kid out of the list I posted on here?

Thanks to posters like you, I now remember why I left BGP for around 9 months.

You made it about 1 teenager who I am willing to bet you have never seen play. How about staying on topic or moving to another thread.

The question was whether this senior class of pitchers was the best we have had in Kentucky. If you don't know because you haven't seen any of them, then move along.

I believe you're wrong. And, way off base. I've watched both Sears and Allen numerous times during the past five to six years and to be honest ... I would have taken Allen over Sears until the past two seasons.

Sears was the better player during both her junior and senior seasons.:thumb:

You have seen a lot of fastpitch softball over the years, ... how would you rank this senior class of pitchers?

Keep the personal comments out of it, and discuss the issue at hand without assuming or assigning any personal issues. That belongs in PM's.

As a whole I think this has been one of the better classes but I think it is also indicative of the progress fastpitch is making in Ky.

(I didn't know Larkyn was a pitcher but as talented as she is it doesn't suprise me:thumb:)

That is my mistake. I saw her on the All State list and just included her! She is a very talented player.

Understandable:D Don't worry about it, I thought i made a mistake once but I was wrong.;)
