I have seen Gilliam and I was impressed with that kid, another plus is Tom Larkey on the Black Bear sidelines that = wins

 

Gilliam, runs around high 4.5 40... I think he was on the all-state team last season..

I believe Michael Campbell, Ryan Fritts, and Caleb Watkins are all three top 10 caliber backs with potential to be the top 3 backs in the Mountains. While they will need to prove it on the field, I think Corbin features one of the best all around backfields in the state. Corbin has had some great backs recently with Jarrod Lawson, Brad Lawson, Josh Ware, etc but as a whole backfield, this may be the best one since Jon Sizemore, STephen Cook, and Mike Neal back in the 2000 season.

I will agree with you on Fritts but I have to disagree with Campbell and Watkins, neither one of them have done enough to be put in the same class as Sizemore, Cook, or Neal.

Campbell fumbled when Corbin was close to the Belfry goal line in the opening game last year, which got him in Coach Farris' doghouse..........and he never got out, hopefully he will get the ball a lot more this year.

That is sad...I mean punishment, anger all ok, but a season long grudge is ludicrous. I also doubt that Willard would hold a season long grudge against a kid...but I may be wrong.

Is Steven White going to be North Laurel's main back this fall, I've been hearing that around town?

 

I would say yes but I think it battling a little injury right now so he is somewhat behind.

In all honesty I would think he would contribute more at TE or even OT, especially with the young kids on the OL. With his size he could be a devasting blocker. At FB I feel like he really slows down the offense.

You may be right, he may be more useful on this team as a lineman. Line him up at guard with Hayden at tackle and someone like French or Manns at TE and run that direction 75% of the time.

come-on guys. Michael is an animal and you want to see him in the trenches. Theirs not three guys can bring him down without being drug 10 yards then injured. Give the ball to Fritts for a juke or two then let the hoss clean house. this is the last year he'll be around, time to use him.

1700 yards 27 touchdowns 2nd team All-State maybe the best back in Eastern and Southeastern Ky. This is pretty good, when everyone knows we are going to run it about 80% of the time. We have some pretty good lineman in front of him.

For his age, noone can touch Channing Fugate. This kid is gonna be what coach Holcomb rides to another state championship for Breathitt.
