Dunbar Coach???

Featured Replies

NO assistants deserving shot. Period. From outside, program needs thorough clean-up and start over. Period. Including over-involved booster club parents. But its tough at the state's largest school to manage all of those things.

Over-involved booster club parents are the biggest problem.

Another problem for some of the top "name" coaches is that Fayette County requires a coach to teach five or six hours each day. Many coaches at other schools do not have that requirement.

I can't say with 100% certainty what the job pays, but Fayette County coaches pay can be pretty poor when compared to others around the state of Kentucky.

I wouldn't say that they all teach classes. And I am sure the pay isn't that big of difference compared to other districts. I am just wondering what the real problem is at PLD. The only ones that can answer that question are the other coaches around the state. I can't imagine why this wouldn't be an attractive opportunity for someone with experience..??.

Yes, they all teach classes. Hensley was a PE teacher at Dunbar.

I know for a fact that there are smaller county schools around the state who pay their football and/or basketball coach an obscene amount when compared to a Fayette County teacher/coach.
