YES Rose Hill Will Have Girls Basketball

How can it not be a KHSAA violation for kids to tryout for school a's team while they are still students at school b? To me that is at the very least tampering. Just reverse the situation and see what the reaction would be.

I could be wrong but does KHSAA have anything to do with middle school.

Need some butter?

Nope, it's spreading as we speak.

Before it gets started. Here's a friendly reminder.

4. No school-specific (or general) recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No talking about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact www.khsaa.org to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

This is Steve Day. I am not Don King, Curtis Lowe, Madeline Albright, LL Cool J, KYNINERSFAN, FreeAtLast or any other person that I have been accused of being on BGP's.

I have sat through several threads were I have been smeared on here. I will put a stop to this whenever God's church has been brought into this. I am not going to get on here and say who did what and who is responsible for what. I will say this, that I have spoken to the Assistant Coach "Jim", in front of two other witnesses, I let it be known that if I caused any friction then I was sorry and I asked "Jim" to forgive me for any wrong doing.

The truth of it is that "Jim" and "Bob" spoke maybe 2 times since the middle of December. There was no arguing, no going to parents or players. I sat in the stands and kept stats on all the girls in all catergories. I never once claimed we could beat Boyd County or Ashland.

I am not going to get on here and try and damage "Jim's" family or anyone else's, like he seems intent on doing. This is all that I am going to say on the matter. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

The people at Rose Hill knows the truth and there have been several girls, old and new faces coming out for open gym. They are on the upswing and are looking forward to having a great coach like Mark Watkins to teach them the game. They may not win any ball games but they sure won't go through what they had to endure last year. Good luck to all of the girls whether they are at Rose Hill or Ashland, or wherever...it's not all about basketball.

Well said!!:thumb::thumb:

Don King, I have aquestion for you. Maybe it is blind left hook.

Here is my question:

Isnt the enrollment at Rose Hill based on getting newcomers?

They are a private school the last time I checked.

Here is the blind left hook:

It will be hard to label those going to Ashland as newcomers since they have been going back and forth to Ashland since February.

Get your gloves up. :fight:

Parents have many reasons for leaving Rose Hill, but if basketball or any other athletics program is the reason for their leaving, then good riddance. If something as unimportant as a sport can sway you then you are probably holding the school back.

Yes there will be a basketball program at RH next year, but more important than that, children will be exposed to Jesus Christ while obtaining a quality education.

Ma'am, I couldn't begin to tell you what they have or haven't been doing since February. My original post after I went back and read it seemed to be coming off as abrasive and trust me, that was indeed not intended. I was simply curious if there was a statement made on here by anyone stating the fact that there'd be no girls program. And after researching the thread you referenced, I still don't know if that was the intent of the post I quoted or not. However, and here comes my counter, I am somewhat in the blind here about what the "back and forth" happens to be here. I wish that you'd explain, because I don't get it.

Well said Jed, but to think that athletics hasn't played a part is naive in my humble opinion. And if "good riddance" is the response, I suppose that the door doesn't revolve as some have stated.

Well everyone knows who I am at this point.

First I will say that some of what you have said is correct but on the other hand you did say that Boyd County should never beat us and if we played a good game we could beat Ashland. You also have talked to parents and the players about things that should not have been discussed about the team, and yes I have witnesses also. You were a great friend of mine and my families at one time and you let winning and loosing at the high school level destroy that. I will say that I wish your daughter all the success in the world and the other girls at Rose Hill. I have never said they will not have a team I have said that its going to be tough if the girls leave and I have never tried to convince them to leave, that is their decision and you may ask them if you would like.

No wonder you are such a good promoter. My head is spinning after reading this post. The bottom line is that Rose Hill will have a team as FreeAtLast has stated and they will be good in a couple of years. They have alot of athleticism coming up in the system.

Don

The athletic program at RH means as much to me, and in some ways more to me than anyone else at Rose Hill. But it is not as important as the mission of the school. I would like to see every student who has left the Hill come back, but with the intent of obtaining a Christian education first.

This one has run it's course.
