Any good we export to any oil country that we get oil from we should raise them as much as oil has risen in the last year and everytime they, the oil company raises the cost of oil we, the United States should raise our goods by twice that much. I say this would force us, the united states to seriously look into another type of fuel and this in hand would force the price of oil to drop. Your thoughts if that made any sense to you.
May 13, 200818 yr It would take a Constitutional amendment to do so. Article 1, Section 9, Clause 5 prohibits duties on exports.

Think about something like a piece of Caterpillar construction equipment, a large GE electric motor, or a Boeing commercial airliner. Most likely, the customers in the affected country would simply buy the same type of product from a country that didn't impose an export duty. Would that help U.S. workers?
