Ginn breaks single season double state record

Featured Replies

Ginn was just an 8th grader this year, and remember she plays a "Weak Northern Kentucky Schedule".

Impressive numbers for such a young player! Whether she set the record or not, there were a lot of other players who would love to be on that short list! :thumb:

Weak schedule or not I saw her hit the ball to the fence off the Class A player of year. She was the only girl on the team to hit the ball in the Class A tournament off the Reiland pitcher. Seems like to me she can just flat out hit the ball.

I think Emily Gaines set the new record this season. Les probably has the final count. I believe she set a new season hits record somewhere in the 80s this past season as well. And just a sophomore!

80 its in one season? Wow. Did she hit .500 or higher?

160+ at-bats is heckuva lot of ABs considering shortened games, rainouts, walks, SFs.

She led off for South Laurel the entire season & postseason. I am sure

She finished with 27 doubles but I think LES has her official stats, but she is very probably the best pure hitter I have ever seen in HS softball. I think it was 81 hits. That is around 2.13 hits per game. Her parents were also good athletes. Great kid as well. I think her batting average was around .560. Not the state record, but very impressive nonetheless. She had the only hit for SL against Sears and NL in the region finals.

Impressive to say the least.

Saw them both this year, very similar players. I can see why their stats are so close.
