Typically, ice in the Arctic Ocean melts during the summer and refreezes over the winter. It's not a new phenomenon.

 

It does not melt completely, which is what I thought he was saying.

I didn't know you were saying completely. I don't expect that will happen in our lifetime, don't know, just an opinion.

If scientists believe the Earth is getting warmer, wouldn't they also believe that this isn't a problem and we will just evolve to handle it?

Evolution is the survival of the fittest. The theory of evolution doesn't claim that the human race will just evolve and survive anything...as far as I know.
