Tennessee Titans Draft

You might not want CJ but I'm sure Vince would lobby for him unless you think he's an Eric Mould, J. Gage etc fan. I mean that is probably the worst group in the league. I sure as heck wouldn't want to loose Haynesworth myself. I'd take him all day every day over CJ. He makes the Titans IMO along with VanDon Bosh BUT if I felt like I couldn't keep him it would be a great business move for the Titans. I understand what you are saying. I wouldn't want to loose him either + Tenn doesn't I don't think BUT if they thought they were going too then it would be worth them looking into. I don't think it's going to happen but I could understand it if it did. (I hope my tone in the earlier email didn't sound bad, in no way did I mean for it too because I've enjoyed chatting with you. Sometimes things look worse when you look over them on the net).

No...nothing came off bad at all. It just seemed like you wanted the Titans to trade Haynesworth for CJ because you've been lobbying for it...as a Titans fan, I couldn't understand the logic. I think Haynesworth is a more valuable player than CJ in any circumstance, but even moreso when looking at the Titans and their game plans.

I'm certainly not going to argue that the Titans have a top notch receiving unit, but I'm not as down on it as most people are. Vince Young is still developing as a passer...the Titans played ultra-conservative on offense last year...I don't think it's fair to judge their receivers completely until they get a chance to prove themselves with more opportunities.

I really think the additions of Crumpler at TE and Chris Johnson as a pass catching threat out of the backfield will really help Vince Young. Those guys can really help as safety valves which should take a lot of pressure off of Vince passing...

I liked the Titans draft. I'm pretty excited about Chris Johnson...I think this guy could be a game-breaker and the Titans version of Reggie Bush. He'll be a great complement to LenDale White's bruising style.

I'm with you that there is no way I'd want to swap Hayneworth for CJ. What I was trying to say is if I thought I couldn't sign Haynesworth after this year then I would go ahead and get Vince one of the best WR's in the league rather than get nothing for him. Crumpler is really big IMO. Other than that I worry about the WR crew. Gage had his moments last year but they are pretty bad out there compared to most teams. I don't agree with the logic to not surround Vince with talent out there but Crumpler is a big pickup. I'd be excited about C. Johnson too. I think he will be a great compliment to Lendell W. That kind of speed in a zone system is scary! I just think the Titans are making it a lot tougher than it has to be on offense because teams will be crazy not to stack the box with no threats outside. I like the Titans too. I made it down for the Chargers game this past year. Bironas got us SWEET tickets!

I am okay with who the titans picked up. I wish they would of went for a top wideout but I can see why they chose the way they did. If we can pick up a player maker at WR then the TT and VY will be okay. Maybe Cincy will get rid of Chad Johnson, us Titans fans ( or me ) will take him! Give VY that weapon to throw too.....

They just put up with Pacman Jones and his foolishness. Why would they want Johnson and his foolishness?

As a die hard Titans fan, I'll pass on Chad. He's 30 and he won't be happy playing for a team that runs the ball like the Titans and won't make him the focus of the offense, IMO. Plus, they could spend the money Chad would demand far more efficiently.

If they could sign him to a minimal contract for one year (kinda like Moss in New England last year), then maybe...

...but otherwise, no thanks on Chad Johnson becoming a Titan.

When they thrived before they were built on a punishing, physical defense...a punishing, physical offensive line and running game...a mobile QB, a very good TE, and a decent group of WR's. They're following that same blueprint again it seems.

They have one of the best coaches in the game IMO. It all starts there with me:thumb:

I have no problem with CJ, other then he thinks he should be the #1 guy. He should be he is one of 5 WR all time to have like 5 or 6- 1000 yards seasons. ( I dont know I saw the stat on ESPN so not sure if that is right or not I can't remember fully.) CJ has issues with himself but please dont compare him to Pacman, not even close. I disagree and would take CJ for a couple years. Regardless of our differences we both agree they have to get more weapons around VY.

To my knowledge I didn't, nor have I ever...but thanks for the advice.

The Titans have enough pieces on offense to be successful. It's just a matter of taking the training wheels off and letting Vince Young make some plays, IMO. Their WR's will be fine. There is always room to improve. That's not limited to WR...personally, I'd prefer to see them add a great defensive player rather than Chad Johnson (or a comparable WR).
