What time was the game suppose to be at Campbell County? 7 I think. Do you know where the umpires were coming from? The rain hit CC around 6:30 or so and the game would have been rained out. The reason why I ask about the umpires is if the game was moved to an earlier time would those umpires be able to get to CC for an earlier game? Most of the umpires CC uses are not from NKY but from further south like the Lexington area.

 

All I know is that Ryle got a call around 2:00 saying the CC field was "unplayable". There was no offer to play the game at CC at 5:00. Ryle AD chose to cancel their JV game so the varsity game could be moved to Ryle. A couple of Ryle's parents were unaware of the location change and went out to CC, where they were surprised to see one of the CC teams out practicing on the field. I have no idea where the umpires were from, but I am certain the umpire coordinator could have figured a way to get umpires to CC for a 5:00 game, as games are frequently played there at that time by CC's freshman, JV, and varsity teams.

Interesting. The only ones I see complaining are CC people. Ryle players and fans were happy to have a game attempted to be played.

Players in full Camel game uniforms were on the field practicing and it was definitely playable. The sun was out and the weather was great at that time. That person was not sure if it was JV or Varsity.

First off yes the JV team was on the field taking batting practice. Second who do you know that drove around the field, the only part of the road that is close to the field is behind the outfield fence. O and not to mention you have to look through the purple tarp hanging up on the outfield fence to even see the field. The only people who drive on the road that goes around the field is coaches, concession workers, or umpires. Last from the outfield beyound the fence if you so happen to get out of you car and look over the fence or you have anazing vision and can see through a purple tarp, it is infact really hard to see what exactly kind of shape the field is in unless you walk on the field in person. There are parts on the field where water does sit.

So you spent 5 sentences questioning whether someone actually saw one of your teams practicing on your field when, in fact, even you admit that they were on the field practicing??? Now that is funny. Even if the JV team is on the field that doesn't mean the field is ready to play. They were taking batting practice. The field doesn't have to be in playable condition for a team to take batting practice. Obviously if the coaches say the field isn't playable then it mostlikely isn't.

Give me a break I bet the Camp Co coach would allow one of his teams to practice on the field and not play a home game on it. it had to be playable!
