Sorry to hear about the injuries to Novosel and Chambers two players that would have been great to have to go against an always tough Hoosier squad.

Was wondering why Gwen Rucker didn't make it.

 

I was told she had to leave the try-outs early. I don't know if they would hold that against her or not??? Rucker is a pretty darn good player not to be on the team.

I know she plays club volleyball with a team from the Kentucky-Indiana Volleyball Association with the best of the best in the best in Louisville (i.e. mostly Assumption's and Mercy's best players) and looking at their tournament schedule, they had an event this past weekend (Apr. 19-20) up in Toledo so this might have had something to do with it.

 

And from the looks of things, the tournament they went to was a national qualifying event so that's a huge deal.

Rucker is an awesome athlete that can jump out of the gym. Her basketball skills need some work though. If she applies herself the sky is the limit.

As far as I know about Novosel, she definately has had lingering issues with her knee from what some people with Lex Cath have said. I heard she went to this tryout the first day but ended up leaving early. I'd say while playing for the Kentucky all stars would be a huge honor, her college career at Notre Dame is first and foremost on her priority list so sitting out well allow her to get healthy.

A player that was part of the try out said she never participated in the work out on Friday. Maybe she came to observe? If she would have been there I would think that everyone would have been talking about it. I had heard several days before the tryout that she was not playing due to her knee and would not attend- the same with Chambers. Both are quality players that would have made the team IMO had they been able to participate.

Not sure, the person who told me was a friend of the Novosels and parent of a former teammate. However, they weren't very clear on if she participated at all or was just there watching.

What are the exact dates and times for these games?
