Marion is going to bolt. I'd still take Rose to run with Wade...

While they would be a good combo, I dont think Rose would be as good for them as Beasley. Just my opinion, but a solid point guard could be had. They wont get too many Beasley's.

I was thinking along the same lines as GT... A backcourt of Rose/Wade would be formidable....

I think if its Seattle Durant can play a 2 while Green and Beasley play the 3/4's...

Seattle is praying Miami takes Rose if it all plays out like that.

This is true, but there aren't many Rose's either...

While true, there are more Rose's than Beasley's.

I agree completely... I almost put that at the end of my other post but didn't want to sound like I was contradicting myself...

So Miami has roughly $40 mil coming off the books this year to put them like $20 mil under the current cap. They will probably re-sign some of those minimum guys and end up with $35 coming off. Any chance the Heat make a run at Agent Zero and draft Beasley?

But, the NBA game seems to be shifting back toward a more up-and-down game...look at the impact Chris Paul has had on the Hornets.

I had Beasley as a lock to go #1 no matter what earlier in the season, but I'm wavering now. The importance of a great PG who can attack defenses, distribute the ball and push it up and down the court cannot be overlooked...

This draft is stacked, IMO...I see quality prospects way down the list (assuming a few guys declare for the draft who haven't yet...you hear that UCLA guys?).

Who would you take with the third pick, after Rose and Beasley are off the board?

New York, Minnesota, and Memphis are in the next tier of picks and I would have to think it will be some combo of Mayo, Bayless, and Brook Lopez. I dont think there is any doubt that New York goes PG. For one, they are trying to part ways with Marbury. For another, they have a ton of guards so of course the Knicks are going to look at that position. ;) They do have some solid post guys as well, young and old so it may not seem as pressing as PG, which they probably do need because with no Marbury, Nate Robinson and Jamal Crawford cant handle it.

Memphis needs a lot at this point. It is hard to say what they really go after. They are really weak in the post, so maybe Lopez.

Hard to say with Minny. They have some good guards, and some good post guys, all are young. If they can get Bayless they probably jump at it because Bassy is not going to work out. They would probably like to be able to play Jefferson at the 4 and take Lopez, but they need a lot of help as well because they are so young.

If its me, Bayless or Mayo are probably the safest bets.

I say no matter who has the number 1 pick, take Beasley. He will be a great scorer, defender, and rebounder. I LOVE Rose, but if there is a talent like Beasley still available, you HAVE to take him.

This is the real question... I'd probably say Lopez right now...

I think the safest thing for the Knicks to do if they took a point would be to take one that has a pass first mentality but can score. So I don't think Mayo is a good idea. Bayless would be better than he, but still not great... JMO...

I'd imagine a few foreign players will sneak into the top 10 as well...maybe higher.

A guy like Anthony Randolph has the chance to skyrocket up the draft board in pre-draft workouts. He's raw & loaded with potential.

Jerryd Bayless is high on the charts too. Scouts see him as a Gilbert Arenas type player.

Danilo Gallinari is an Italian who has "PG skills in a 6'8'' forward body". Sounds impressive, and it looks like he may go in the top 10.

Gallinari is likely to be the only European considered in the lottery unless something strange happens.

How do you get higher than the top 10?
