Who are some of the best juniors in the state?

Any list of the best Juniors in Ky. will have to include Luke Maile Catcher at CovCath (stats). The young man was the Player of the Year in the Ninth Region as a Sophomore, played and started for the Kentucky Colonels (a U-18 summer ball team) and was invited as a sixteen year old when the Ky. Colonels season was over to play for the Midland Redskins in there quest of the Connie Mack World Series (which they won). Maile has had full ride offers from UK, UofL and LSU that I know of (I am sure there have been more) and Luke has a solid "B" average at CovCath (where there is no free rides in academics). Great kid with a outstanding knowledge of the game of baseball, and one who would make any team better.

 

CovCath has some more Juniors who would start for any other team in the State; Ryan Darner, Zack Isler and Brandon Nutini. Each are great ball players, and any team in the Commonwealth would die to have them on their team.

 

Say what you want about me being a CovCath homer, but facts are indeed facts!

In Frankfort there are plenty of top Juniors! At Western Hills you have Jordan Queen. AtFranklin County you have Eli Howard and Chance Clifton. Clifton is probably the better of the three but all three have to be mentioned as tops in the class of 2009!

I will go along with Maile and Nutini.

Billy Logan catcher for Greenup County. Not only is he a great catcher but he can pound the ball.

Trying to think of the junior class. Chris Berry from Trinity immediatlely comes to mind. Although I have not seen him play, Tyler Dunnaway from Eastern is know to be hard-throwing on the mound. Jarred Clarkson from Shelby County has given a verbal commitment to U of L. All three are pre-season All-State this year.

Id have to add bourbon counties mack manning he has been starting at the varsity level since an 8th grader. He has a lot of power and discipline at the plate and has a very good glove on 3rd and 1st base.

AJ "Chuck Wagon" Smith I believe is playing with the Kentucky Kings.

Tyler Brake from Conner. One of the most efficient hitters I've seen and not a bad fielder by any means.

Just heard today that Jarred Clarkson has a broken bone in a collision on the field???? Clarkson is a very athletic baseball player.
