April 15, 200818 yr 2H2 + O2- -> 2H2 Synthesis Mg + 2HCl -> MgCl2 + H2 Single Replacement 2NaCl -> 2Na + CL2 Decomposition FeS + 2HCl -> H2S + FeCl2 Double Replacement Cu + 2Ag(NO3) -> 2Ag + Cu(NO3)2 Single Replacement Those were pretty easy. I think you're just trying to build my self-esteem.
April 15, 200818 yr determining the type of reaction given a balanced chemical equation. Remember, there are four types of reactions we will deal with in this lesson. They are: Synthesis which follows the pattern A + B - -> AB Decomposition which follows the pattern AB - -> A + B Single Replacement which follows the pattern A + BC - -> AC + B (A has switched places with B) Double Replacement which follows pattern AB + BC - -> AC + BC (A and B have switched places) Practice Set 1 2H2 + O2- -> 2H2 Mg + 2HCl -> MgCl2 + H2 2NaCl -> 2Na + CL2 FeS + 2HCl -> H2S + FeCl2 Cu + 2Ag(NO3) -> 2Ag + Cu(NO3)2 I'm so proud! Though I will say that in the double replacement reaction, I usually use AX + BY --> AY + BX The analogy that I give is like square dancing. Two couple split apart, and pair up with the opposite partner.
April 15, 200818 yr Author No, those were really the practice problems. (they give you the answers) Great analogy! I will be sure to share this.
April 15, 200818 yr No, those were really the practice problems. (they give you the answers)So, I got 100%?
