Holy Cross 2 Beechwood 1 (All A)

I agree, that was a bone-head mistake and it may have been the play that cost the tigers the game. Another thing you question is having Smith go out for the 6th inning. Anybody know his pitch count? I am sure it was pretty high.

I saw Hadden working in the bullpen. No apperance for him? If I were coaching... Hadden pitches the sixth, until you feel Elliott will secure a win or if Hadden struggles, put in Elliott.

I'd have a tough time not starting Elliot against HC here. I'm sure he would have pitched against NCC in the finals and that's what Myerhoff was saving him for, but he doesn't do you much good if you don't make it there.

Always a tough call for any coach - save your ace for the finals or use him to get to the finals and go with your next best. The only way you really know the right call is to wait until after the games have been played. ;)

Yeah, but I'd say it's a toss up right now between HC and NCC for who's the better team. I'd rather know I am playing in the finals and then hope Smith steps up and pitches a nice game. Especially, when you know Andy Roenker is pitching for HC.

I thought there are rules about comments like this on here .Trying to get trouble started are you ?

Congrats to HC ! Hopefully they make it to Applebees and beat O-Cath .Sorry but have to go with the hometown team .

Obviously there arent any and if there are rules against asking if anyone from Beechwood has excuses then I guess my time is done here on BGP. Its a message board, 80% of what is posted is someone's excuse for why they think they are right or someone else is wrong.

By the way obviously I'm not taking anything away from Smith he pitched a heck of a ballgame and there's no guarantee that Elliot would have done any better. I was just questioning Myerhoff's strategy.

If i understand correctly, Beechwood had A LOT of pitching available for that game, and they could have gone with Elliott, Hadden, or Snyder after Smith was pulled. You cant say Elliott did a bad job, he just had one pitch get away from him. That intentional walk that the coaching staff called for with 1 out and runners on 2nd and 3rd came back to bite them.

Owensboro Catholic, I think is favorite. They walk to the finals as will LexChristian.

Is that like everyone on here worrying who Beechwood will play at Applebee's after they beat the rep from the 10th?? :D
