JV Conner run ruled CCH on Monday.

JV CAMELS finish the week strong by with a 10-5 5inning game @ Lloyd, running their seaon record to 6-0. Believe two pitchers combined for a no-hitter today.

 

JV CAMELS have really hit the ball and had strong pitching this week. It is early so hopefully not too much weight is put on this hot start as what truly matters is that they continue to work to get better each game as the season progresses.

 

Nonetheless, great start to the season.....keep playing hard boys!!!!

 

Agree with some of the other replies JV Regional needs to be seeded.

The JV Camels won 10-0 today, not 10-5 . . . 4 scheduled games next week, keep it up. Double digit runs in 4 straight games

This is a very good point. With guys being shuffled around early and what not you never know what will happen by the time the JV tournament comes.

Another post had the Beechies frosh thumping the CCHS frosh (when they played a couple of true frosh). So, if you're going to put the Beechies JV team at #2, then you have to have their frosh at least at #2.... it's a small school, probably the the same players on both teams.

I agree that Beechwood should be on the list, but Beechwood was also run-ruled by CCHS, so it may be a wash. Seems to me that both teams played horribly in each game and beechwood's Frosh were not a significant factor when they played. 3-3 game until the wheels came off.

Beechwood only played 2 freshman the first game .These are 2 that do not play all that much .Just depends on who is there .The CCHS coach was told this was going to happen .There was actually ,I think 3 7th graders, that played the whole game .

 

The second game was closer to the freshman team ,minus Larimore .

Both fine ballplayers that will wait their turn to play varsity at Ryle like everyone else (actually, I think Freidel will be transferring to CCH, so he probably does have a good chance to make varsity there). However, neither would start next year at varsity at Ryle - even if they were allowed to try out for the team, which they won't be. Besides the fact that Ryle's junior class is very deep - they are some very fine ballplayers currently not getting a lot of playing time simply because of the depth on this team - Ryle has some very good sophomores that would start in front of these two. But even as good as these sophomores are, they still wouldn't start on the varsity team right now, thus making their proper place to play the JV team.

There are many sophomores better than Hempel and Freidel???? This thinking is the reason Ryle is never very good in baseball. If this coach was smart and not worried about what other people thought, these two kids would be starting on varsity right now. And Ryle would win more down the road.

Wow, I'm impressed with the number of inaccuracies you were able to come up with in such a short post.

 

First off, I never said "many" sophomores - I said "some". And that statement is true, despite your obvious overwhelming baseball knowledge and Ryle insight. Secondly, I wasn't aware Ryle "is never any good" in baseball. I'll have to send out emails to all the kids on last year's team that went to state and remind them they weren't any good. Thirdly, Ryle's coach is indeed very smart and one of the most respected coaches in NKY (not that he couldn't learn a few things from you, of course ). I'm quite certain he isn't the slightest bit worried or influenced by what other people - especially people on this site - think. And lastly, there is no way either of these players deserve to start on varsity this year. Not even close. But feel free to talk them up all you want, as they are indeed very nice ballplayers and would make varsity on most squads in NKY. :thumb:

You are correct, Ryle had a very good team last year. Ryle also played a poor game against Dunbar in big part because of lack of experience. Which is my point saying Freshmen and Sophomores need more experience playing on the Varsity level if Ryle is to ever win a State Championship and have good teams year after year. I was not trying to put down Ryle's coach as he may be a great one. All I was saying is that although it may sound respectable to play people because of "seniority", it is really hurting those who could potentially play at the D1 level. Actually, your earlier post did say that they should be starting varsity now. They should not be. Their time will most certainly come, as they are excellent ballplayers, but that time is not now. And your comment about them both being better than every sophomore on the team is simply wrong. I'll just assume you really aren't all that familiar with this team.

I don't want to go there. But I can assure you that there are a couple of very talented sophomores on the JV squad. In fact, one of them was just moved up to varsity on a part-time basis.
