Can Obama run again if this election fails?

Featured Replies

I hope not.

I'm just curious why you thing young people are so un-informed. And do you feel that about all progressives?

Historical evidence shows that young voters are not that informed and that they are not really interested. 18-25 year olds turn out in fewer numbers than any age group to vote. As they marry, start families, start businesses, they begin to pay more attention to elections.

Of course there are exceptions. I have voted in every Presidential election since my 1st chance to vote in 1972. I was 21.

My friends are split about 50/50 with support for McCain and Obama...

Ask the ones why they support McCain, they bring up his past as a POW, his stance on Iraq, his experience, etc...

Ask those who support Obama, its because he's "charismatic"...

Just an observation, I've made, so IMO, most young people are very un-informed...

That is the only reason he is in the race, the Democratic Party has fallen so far it is not even funny...............

If Obama does not get the Democratic nomination he will run again.

But if he gets the nomination and loses in November history says no. Look at those who lost previous Presidential elections, they are are rarely nominated a second time. It is not impossible, but unlikely. He does have youth on his side, as far as Presidential candidates go.

For me when you say young people I am thinking of 18-19-20 year olds, those just out of high school. As juniors and seniors many just are not interested in politics, they just do not see the need to vote. Even if they pick up on some idea of what is going on, they are not yet dedicated to make sure they go and vote, something gets in the way, bad weather, a ball game, a party.

They are uninformed because many do not like to read. They do not want to take the time to pay attention to politics because it bores them, other things interest them more. As I said before, when marriage, families, and the importance of jobs become more of a concern, they will start to take the time to understand politics.

Then there are some who never care about voting and have no clue as to what is going on with the elections, but most likely are the first to complain.
