March 15, 200818 yr The 1st 2 are of the Georgia Congressional Center, which is located adjacent to the Georgia Dome. There was a Kentucky Pep Rally there before the game, and the Junior ROTC Ball was there as well. Every window was shattered when we left the game, and the sprinklers were spraying water everywhere.
March 15, 200818 yr Yes, the first two are the Congress Center. We actually had just went down the stairway that turned into the waterfall prior to the game to access the much less crowded food court. What you can't see in those pictures is that you could actually see the Atlanta skyline if you were close enough to that large hole to look out. They were showing aerial views today and the roof of the World Congress Center has holes in it like swiss cheese. The majority of the debris that surrounded the Georgia Dome and lined Marietta Street came from the top of the Congress Center. I hope to load the pics of my cell phone and my buddies camera this week. The Omni Hotel was a very surreal sight. The DOUBLE PANE GLASS was just shattered with ease, and the lighting in the hallways wa sliterally sucked out of the ceiling.
March 15, 200818 yr The Weather Channel, had two different reporters on site today. The footage of the damage, was eerie to look at. One side of the CNN building, with damage/windows broken and the other, nothing. Roofs missing, walls damaged, steel twisted like puddy.
