With no players leaving and them taking the defending state champions down to the wire. Some of the basketball players have already started lifting and getting better and their seson ended less than a week ago. Meyer Hick Donovan Hall and Connor VERY solid starting 5 with Watkins coming off the bench and solid role players off the bench.

They were fifth this past year behind Lex Cath, Station, Scott County and Dunbar. They beat everyone else they played in the region including:

Mad. Central, Tates Creek, Lafayette and all the district teams twice. They don't lose anyone, and Catholic loses a lot, Station loses a lot, Scott County two starters and Dunbar at least one starter, but maybe their best player. I don't see your logic.

For Catholic to be as good next year as they are this year they will have to get impact transfers.

In reality I think this tread was started by someone that probably was just a little excited about FC playing Scott Co. competitive in the region.

 

I think FC will be respectively competetive in the 11th but, I think we have to face reality, Scott Co. is a powerhouse program that is on a different level than everyone else, including Lexington Catholic.

 

If they get the other impact transfer that is being talked about I doubt anyone in the 11th will be able to touch them.

 

Scott Co. has the feeder program (3 middle schools), they get the impact transfers, they have the best coach, they have Toyota, and they have the best fan following. On that final note they are the only high school program that pre sells season tickets for courtside chairback seats on one side of the gym.

 

Scott Co. is hands down the best program in the state. FC will have them on the regular season schedule which I think is great, but it will definately be a David vs Goliath matchup.

 

I wonder if there are some good players that grew up in their feeder program that will be looking to go elsewhere because they will not get the opportunity with all the transfers coming in.

This free agent signing elevates Scott County to a level above the rest of the 11th region, and should make them very competitive if not a favorite at the state level. Then, Dunbar, Lex. Catholic, Franklin County, and maybe another team will fight for 2nd, 3rd...for whatever that is worth. I think this is only going to make the rest of the league work harder.

The only relationship between Toyota and SC is they are both in Gtown and they sponsor the Toyota Classic. I wonder how many times that has to be stated?

 

I cant imagine any of the kids that are already on the team leaving. There will likely be no impact upcoming sophomores on this coming years version of the Cardinals. Kids could leave, but I think if any did they would have been marginal contributors at SC even without the transfers. I would not be surprised to see one of the talented 8th grade class leave town, and I am not talking about Manning.
