West Jessamine 66 Somerset 51

Featured Replies

The Colts took Tyler Bourne completely out of the game, making the Briar Jumpers rely solely on the 3 point shot. Somerset was 12 for 22 behind the arc and 5 for 15 from inside it. West Jessamine repeatedly drove inside on the bigger Briar Jumpers and were quicker all night. IMHO, Somerset was a point guard away from being right there with Lincoln Co., meaning they would have been there tonight playing and also just as good as the Patriots. Well, maybe one or two points less.

Why would the Jumpers look for a new Coach. I do not know Coach Thacker, but in my opinion he has done a great job at SHS and I remember SHS having a coaching carousel before Thacker and speaking of Coaching changes how is the Warriors coping with a 5-21 season?[/QUOTE]

We are coping just fine. Thanks for asking.

In fact we are optimistic. Last year we lost 97% of our offense and next year we return 99% of our offense.

As far as Thacker he won 20 games AGAIN. I think next year will be a down year for the jumpers, but he will have them back in 2009-2010.

First of all Congratulations to all the teams that played tonight, two pretty good games. Both teams who won exposed the weaknesses of their opponents. Both Somerset and PC faught hard just could not get over the hump at curcial points in the game.

Thats a good question FBF15, I beleive Warrior 69 is being sarcastic...picking at those arm chair coaches that always have all the answers. Us real fans understand Thack not coming back would be a big mistake for the Jumpers.

My point exactly. :thumb:

Are you kidding? I guess that could be true for any team. If we just had......

Looking at scores, Lincoln looks to be about 30 points better so you better make sure that point guard your talking about can shoot the three. Lincoln clearly brings it in the 2nd half .

Congratulations and good luck at state to the PATS.

Thats why you dont go by scores! Because,, Somerset gave Lincoln all they wanted earlier in the season but the final score was Lincoln by 13.. IMO I think what Slink is saying is that if Somerset had a point guard that could bring the ball up the court and run an offense it would allow Price to go back to running the 2 or 3 which was his normal position up untill this season.. With Price having to play out of position and be the point guard this season it has forced everyone's role to change, which in return highlighted some of the weaknesses of the Jumpers.. And had Coach Thacker been able to play Price at the wing I do believe the Jumpers would have been an all-around better team.. Although I do think Price has done an excellent job at the PG position considering he'd never been asked to handle the ball up untill this year..

Congrats on a great season Somerset, we'll miss all 10 seniors next year

Slink and Coach Kinney both make good points. I to beleive that the jumpers were a point guard away from being a different team. Their point actually played out of position all year, he is a much better 2 or 3. And you are right Somerset will be a little down next year, but things look pretty good around the horizon. But just how good they be will depend on a few varibles.

Good point Jumper Mom, I don't like mentioning people name, but you are correct in you assessment. And yes John Cole could of helped, but you know you have to make the best out of what you have, and the Jumpers did that. Or fans need to be proud of them and there Coach. Look at some of the team they had to play this year. They did not duck anyone along the ride.
