Learning how to pick up the blitz will help them a lot. They had a great year but the blitz seemed to give them problems in the finals.

If the tall reciver is returning, that is a good building block for a new QB.

The tall receiver will be the quarterback next season & the offense will probably have a different look. I think Lone Oak will have a very competive team next season. Haskins has the program in a reload mode from here on out which should produce winning seasons & possible another trip or two to Louisville in December

#8 JAMARIELLE BROWN returns this fall. He was the one that return the KO for a Td against No Bullitt that turn the game completely around (LO trailed by 19 pts). My understanding is he getting a lot of attention from D-1 schools. He went to Junior Day at UK this past Sunday. He will be the qb this fall & has a strong arm plus can run also. He should be a frontrunner for Mr. Football 2008

The Brown kid can play, no doubt, and will likely garner some DI offers. But he is going to find the world a different place without Robinson feeding him the ball. The losses of #1 and #24 along with Robinson will hurt. Lone Oak has a good thing going and has just as much a chance as anyone on the West to make it to Pappa Johns in 08. Calloway is supposed to be returning a lot and they will no doubt have the Lone Oak game circled on their schedule. I would say Lone Oak, Warren East, Calloway and Franklin Simpson are all favorites to come out of the West.

There's another pretty good receiver in WK, Calloway's George Garner. He'll be surrounded by a steady corp of good receivers this fall, like Brown was last year. Brown's good, without question. However, I agree with ya Cynical that this season will be very different for Mr. Brown and Lone Oak. Time will tell who comes out of the far west.

With Brown at quarterback, Lone Oak will obviously make some changes in their offensive scheme. They will keep the Franklin system, but the play-calling will change dramatically. Jack Haskins is one of the best at adjusting his system and schemes to fit the talent he has on hand, and not trying to fit the talent into his system.

 

The word from the Lone Oak camp is that the offensive line will be better and able to work the ground game, and that Brown has the arm to become a passing threat. There is no doubt they will continue to spread the field and will be able to throw the ball with some frequency ... just not on nearly every play as they did last year.

I would say Lone Oak, Warren East, Calloway and Franklin Simpson are all favorites to come out of the West.

Calloway is the district favorite ... they return most of their key players and will have a senior-heavy team much like Lone Oak was last season. Hopkins Central could make it a three-team race.

September 26th Lone Oak vs Calloway County at the graveyard. I give Lone Oak the edge with the crowd & the Haskins factor. I like Lone Oak chances of repeating the district title. The loss of 16 seniors will hurt but the cupboard isn't bare. It should be an exciting 3 horse race for the title.

Lone Oak does have two potential first team all staters returning in Brown and Jeff Prescott. Coach Haskins has done no less than an amazing job with this program and you would expect him to continue to develop talent and place highly competitive teams on the field.
