Lynn Camp may not beat South Laurel on the scoreboard, but I would be willing to bet they win the battle of hustle and effort. South may very well beat them by 20, but the kids from Lynn Camp have great heart and take pride in their school. They are a direct reflection of their coach and they will not back down from anyone. South will know they have been in a game once the final horn sounds. What the Wildcats lack in skill they make up for by playing their rear ends off. They have some very athletic kids with some size. If you have seen them play this season more than once or twice you would have to agree. A team does not beat Pineville and Bell Co within a week and not be a good ball club. No doubt South is the favorite to win the region, but this is not a 7 game series. Lynn Camp only has to be better than South Laurel for one game. That game takes place on Monday night. Lynn Camp should be loose Monday and all the pressure should be on South Laurel since they are the heavy favorite. It's a one game deal, so I wouldn't sell Lynn Camp short. If they are hitting shots and stay close, maybe they can pull it out at the end.

IMO LC plays loose every game. To pull off an upset in this one they will have to do a much better job handling the ball, cut out the turnovers and play the best defensive game of their school history. Both teams will hustle and play hard (semifinal of region) how could they not. From the games I have watched Knuckles, Sizemore, and Mobley must be at the top of their game and Mitchell will have to be under control and not shoot them out of the game if he is not hitting. The new guy from KC helped alot vs Day and should help vs St.John, great pickup for LC. LC must understand they may never be at this point again and make the most of this chance!

Let me assure you that the kids are loose and realize that they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing this game and this particular team. Breeze's observations are dead-on correct. If LC does not get caught up in the moment or let a little game success (IF it happens) get them overaggresive (as it did in the district final), and if Mitchell takes what is there and does not get wild and try to do too much, they could make the most of this thing. Both SL and LC have something to prove here. Pennington will have these guys ready to play and have a plan to get them in a position to try for the upset.
