May 17, 200818 yr I can't say for sure that Bell would have won that game if Mitchell didn't play. There is no way of knowig. But what bothers me is you guys think that you would have definitly won the game without Mitchell. If Bell holds onto the football they win easily. Obviously Highlands deserves credit for stripping the ball, but its beyond me how no one gives Bell credit for at the very least being on a level playing field with Highlands that year. This is after a week before the game where some Highlands fans were saying Bell would not cross the 50 against them and gave Bell no chance of competing with the mighty Highlands team. Your comments are valid, but you have to keep in mind that the Highlands posters were naturally placed in the defensive mode when the Bell County folks first came out swinging on here saying that Bell was cheated and that Bell would definitely have won the game if Mitchell hadn't played. It was then and only then, that some of the, shall I say, more "enthusiastic" Highlands fans responded with posts in a similar vein, with only the results being different. But bottom line, I'm glad you've crossed into the land of reality with me and agree that its impossible to know who would have won. Now, maybe I can get some of those "enthusiastic" Highlands fans (like my wife) to join us in that land.

Really the thing that got m upset from the start is almost no one was giving Bell County a chance before the game on here from Highlands. Most were saying Bell County could not play with Highlands. And I think anyone who watched the game would have to admit that night that Bell was not a lesser team. And then to findout Highlands played a player that was ruled ineligible by the KHSAA who scored the 2 TDs was hard to swallow for the Bell Co. team that came so close to the finals. Then after Highlands won the championship some Highlands fans were saying Bell could not beat Boyle Co. if they were to play after Highlands beat them soundly. The point of this is we just can't get no respect!
