As a Conner fan ... the answer to this question is "NO"!!!!!!!!

 

I will be happy if Conner pulls this out .... but I would like to hope that no one is worried about gloating when it just as easily could have been the other way around (especially when we are talking about high school kids).

 

Class is the name of the game ... both teams have represented their schools well all year. No reason to trash that now.

Even if it isn't intentional ... you are degrading the efforts of a pretty good team .. and people who do not know that you are not linked to Conner get the impression that you are making classless comments.

 

At this point in the year ... the effort and hard work needs to be placed over the desire to trash talk or pull the "I told you so" attitude.

 

And last ... how can you say that this is an upset? I know Highlands won both games previously ... both a lot of people think that Conner was good enough to beat Highlands at any time. And it isn't like Highlands didn't have a tough time with Conner in the previous games.

 

Any one who thinks this is an upset hasn't been paying too much attention.

Getting this far is an accomplishment for the young ladies that are playing in the regional. Secondly, if you can't handle someone saying "over-rated" , then A) you need to step back and look at sports and March Madness (we all love the upsets) and B) realize, it is nothing personal!

 

Again, good luck to Conner as they move on. The better team won on this night. The previous meetings are meaningless now. Also, people might want to revisit seedings, because these two teams would not have met in the first game if they were seeded! Just my opinion, I am nobody to get all hyped up about......

It has to do with the fact that high school sports are heading down the same road as pro (and soon to be college) sports. Having class isn't something that people should ever be willing to get over. If you think this is personal ... then you may want to back up and regroup and realize that you were the one with the classless comments. (Keep in mind .. I am NOT .. .NOR will ever be a Highlands fan). I am a high school sports fan ... and some other things as well. In the end .. I don't like to see my school associated with comments like this ... not just from you .. .but from anyone.

But if you look a little closer--those games were decided at the very end ... and Conner beat some teams that Highlands didn't--while being a little more consistent for the entire year. I respect that totally! As the updates were coming in, it was just one of those comments that I was picturing the crowd chanting. I meant no harm! I agree to disagree with it being that being trash talk. But hey, if we all on here agreed 100% what fun would it be?!?!

And great points about the view of upset or not. I haven't seen either team play this year, or can honestly name a player from either roster. The talk on the 9th Region thread made it sound like Higlands or BC was/is the teams to beat!
