Which teams this season have overachieved? :banana:Which teams underachieved?

Expectations were high from the get go for many programs and some teams made it and other did not.

Ryle overachieved this year for sure, I think they only won 9 or 10 games last year. They are a program on the rise. I think Ludlow has done a nice job this year also.

I definitely agree that Ryle overachieved this year. Scott High underachieved. I really felt like this was going to be a good year for them. They had the talent, unfortunately, another losing record and lost the first district game.

I like this thread as long as people are realistic with "overachieving". Winning games you should win is NOT overachieving. It is doing what is expected! However, a team like Ryle won games it wasn't supposed to, so I would say them. Also, by the sounds of it, it sounded like Holy Cross overachieved some this season with their turnaround. But again, with having players returning from injury and such, I didn't follow Holy Cross much and someone on another thread said they should have won those games......

Dixie underachieved if we are looking at games that they should have won through out the season. A very young team but definitely with talent. Their strong point was they played as a team..no selfishness!! Just at times they couldn't hang in there because of a shallow bench. It seems as if there was no recognition for this team anywhere this year for anything they did. Definitely would like to see that change!

Hope they now become OVERachievers as Regionals begin!!

Ludlow has had a good year, but they don't fall under the teams that have overachieved. They are just right in the middle. They didn't overachieve, but they didn't underachieve either.

Agreed that Ryle & HC were overachievers and with a bright future. Dixie struggled with a lack of height and depth. Yes they are a young team for the most part. For a school their size, they should be much better.

defiantely ...CCH fits into this catergory...way to go camels...Congrats!

Dayton H.S is going the Regionals.

I would have to look at Holmes as underachievers. Weaver and Webb are tall and talented, and they have a couple of nice outside shooters. Seemed like they only played when they felt like it. Is Weaver going to Division 1 school ?

Would the Campbell County Camels fit into overachievers? They won their District over Brossart?????

I don't know enough about them, but I thought Brossart was the favorite there.....

I wouldn't say that CCHS overachieved. We shouldn't have lost to them in the first round, but they definitely didn't overachieve. I'm pretty sure they returned 4 starters and only managed to go 12-12 heading into the tourney. I looked on the KHSAA website and saw they only beat one school all season long who ended the season with a winning record. That's not exactly what I call overachieving. It sounds like they also blew a huge lead against Brossart the first time they played. Now look at Scott's record. WE UNDERACHIEVED!!!

I could not agree with you more, skylinesteve. I really thought the Lady Eagles would do much better than what they did.

Beating Scott was a game they were supposed to win. Compared to last years loss in the first round and coming back to become district champs is pretty impressive. Yes, last year they underachieved but this year they managed to be Brossart who they haven't beaten in quite some time, and Bracken who they've lost to the past two years. They didn't overachieve the way some would say is impressive but coming back from how they played the past years they did much better.
