Shooty was 7 of 7 from the field and that is a very good showing against Mason County. The Panthers just had a hard time getting the ball up against that full court press. Good luck to both teams.

I have watched the Augusta team alot this year and I have never seem them play dirty did not get to go to the game last night but I did see the Mason County St pat game and if you want to talk about dirty ball Mason County garbbed and held pushed and shoved all night and nothing was ever called.Yes they are a good team but if they would call fouls then their press would not be very effective, I watched on several occassions the St Pat guards get their arms grabbed by one player and then another player take the ball. I call this DIRTY

Fact is, this is how games are called all over the Commonwealth. Lots of physical play is allowed to occur, and the BGC officials are probably more well known for allowing the guys to play than just about anyone.

 

If no competitive advantage is gained, play on. If one player really is grabbing the arm and another is stripping the ball, chances are better than even that this will be called.

 

Back to the game - as I said before, Staggs played his tail off. Just a case of David vs. Goliath, and David didn't have his slingshot last night.

I have been sitting here debating on what I want to say without ruffling too many feathers.

 

For PrincePalace, you said this was the dirtiest game you have seen Augusta play this year, Just how many games have you seen? Not to many I suppose.

 

To say they played dirty is a Joke, they played hard and gave just as much as they received as far a Physical play goes. Were they more physical then normal yes. I have seen Derek Fryman play a lot of basketball for Augusta and never seen him hit the floor as many times as he did last night. Did Augusta make mistakes you bet but, they sure had help in making some of them.

 

I have said it before and will say it again. Augusta if they were to play the Physical Defense some of these bigger schools get away with during the regular season on there home floor. We would have the whole team fouled out in the first half. The bigger your schools name the more you will get away with.

 

Tell me how many times after Mason scored last night did they mess with the ball, hitting it up the floor. Heck one time a player made a shot then passed the ball up the floor to the ref. No warnings given there. Tell me how a ref did not see that.

 

 

Anyway congrats to Mason Co. And to Augusta we are proud of you guys. Go into Regions, forget about the Name on the Jersey in front of you and play your hearts out . Leave it on the floor Seniors.

Another fact...Mason is a, better more talented team yes. I am sure you will agree. I would say everyone in Augusta will Agree.

 

We would just like to see a fairly called game.
