Well, both districts are tough districts. Lexington Catholic's/Lexington Christian's districts may be the toughest in the state, arguable of course. And Paris plays in the 40th district which is also tough, with 4 of the top 5 teams in the 10th region being in that district. While it could be a surprise, it could just as easily not be, with as many good teams there are in these districts.

They both lost to 4A schools.. this is why they have the class a tournament.. to give these teams a chance at a state tournament becuase its vary rare to see a class a school make it to the big dance. I think out of the 16 regions, you might see 1 or 2 class a schools in Bowling Green.

Is anyone surprised that the Champion and Runner-up finishers in the All A Classic were both defeated in the first round of their district tournaments?

Not at all. When your playing teams with a student body 4 to 5 times the size of your school it's easy to see how these games can be tough. If you have 4 times the girls to choose from your normally going to be able to find a better talent pool. While A schools do have some great players it's usually the 3rd,,4th, and 5th players that the talent level drops simply because of the numbers of girls you have to choose talent from. I think that's were the difference comes in.

Who won the girls state at Bowling Green last year?

Class A school, and this happens once every 4-5 years or so... not to mention they are also private but we need not go there. Check the record books for the last time a public class a school made it to the finals.

Thanks for the corrections. I read it wrong, it's been a long day. Still both teams made it to the finals, not bad for an All A school.

I believe this was the only question you asked. Two Class A schools have made it to the finals since 2002. Not too bad for the little guys.
