It will be a difficult night for Walton Verona. You can't just draw up stuff and practice them for a couple of days and expect it to work at in a district final against a quality opponent like SK.

 

Walton will have trouble on both ends of the court. I would like to see the upset but don't think it will happen to a Stowers' coached team.

 

I agree and very well said. Everyone likes the "idea" of the underdog and I wish Walton all the best. I just think Simon K is too much for them.

I agree Simon is too strong for Walton at this point but it is not because they are that great on offense. A good quick moving 3-2 with Hargett on the point would give them more problems than a man. It is tougher to hit from 19 feet than 2. Also spreading the floor to limit doubles can help. Ido agree SK is better team, but not 25 points better.

Probably not the adjustments will not be made. SK has struggled with mature teams that are more their age. SKis a more physical team with no real athletic players outside of Ferris. Conner and Boone are two teams that come to mind as well as Highlands.Defense is their thing, their outside shooting is streaky. Still a very nice team but they look more uneasy shooting than they did earlier this year. Plus WV did lose a starter too a ACL tear last week.

No real athletic players have you actually seen them play or just seen box scores???? I have one question who do you not guard from outside besides Wormald #44 (sp)? 4 of Simon's 5 starters can bury you from outside and everyone that comes off the bench as well. Simon went through a slump earlier this year with losses to Conner and NDA. I doubt that would happen now. As far as having a starter out Simon has had two out all year in both Figgins girls. They both have started since 8th grade. One with an ACL and the other with a back injury I believe.

Ponzer kid gives speed but compared to some of athletes I have seen in division I summer leagues they are very mechanical. Just curious but what schools are you talking about from the summer leagues?

Not schools , select teams from all over the country. I recruit for several select teams and watch kids from Dayton to Lexington and across to Louisville.

So you are comparing this team to players from all over the country? Well I'd hope you would have seen a lot better players. This is a pretty good team, and could make a run to the sweet 16 but they couldn't match up with certain players selected from teams around the country. I don't understand how your evaluation works though because of the fact that this team is a lot better than WV and yet you say it is a lot closer than any of the games have shown.

I have enjoyed watching northern KY this year, there are some really good young prospects in the area I cover. In Ky the kids start playing at younger age and I can watch them play against older, more mature kids.
