I don't think Sparks or Keeton shot the ball without getting fouled. Thats 23 shot attempts, or 23 fouls that were not called.

Go like anything else I look for fairness,and for the official to be in the right position, I have heard so many times its not my call, if they see it they should call it. If you are sitting court level then you obviously have the worst seats.

 

If you go to the state tourney then you should know of the reputation the 16th region officials have. If you have read all my posts then you should know I have bragged on a couple of officials, an I never curse at an official I know they have a tough job,but I also know you can look at them and see when they are intimadated.

I'm new to the board STRIKE3 but I don't think you can discuss the Raceland/Lewis game without addressing officiating, or the lack thereof, on both sides.

 

We all want to see our young athletes playing their best at tournament time. But when officials refuse to blow their whistles, exasperated coaches lose composure, excited crowds become angry mobs, and players get hurt.

 

I've watched high school games for over 25 years. I'm tired of hearing about 'how they play at state." Good officials keep games under control. Period. That's why they have whistles.

The players play the game and they deserve the conversation, not what goes on outside the competitive settings.

 

We can have 3,000 people watch a game and get 2,999 different opinions on calls, plays, decisions and what is best. The refs have been discussed in this thread and time to get back to the game.

RACELAND

KC NICHOLS was on fire!!!! Has had several grand games; last night, 7 of 11 from the field, 9 of 11 from the line. He's not afraid to drive right down the middle among the tall timber and display his skill.

 

Sparks is a very good player but did not have his best night. As UT Fan stated, considering he and Keeton were hacked on almost every shot, did not do badly.

 

Keeton continues to contribute in his first year of varsity basketball.

 

Martin may be the the top all-around athlete in the region; would excel at any sport he chose to play. Played well but excellence does not thrive amidst chaos.

 

I don't know the Lewis Co players, but I congratulate them on a HARD-FOUGHT game. Wish their seniors, and their coach who will be serving our country overseas soon, only the best.

Welcome to BGP annabel. :thumb: I agree with what you have said about the Lewis County kids, they are very well coached and the Lewis kids play hard and do not quit.

Tough loss for Lewis Co.
