Corbin 83 Williamsburg 50

Featured Replies

Final. Corbin controls this game from start to finish.

Good defensive effort from the Hounds tonight, plus good offensive board work. They need to cut down on the turnovers and work it inside more to play their best though.

Williamsburg plays hard, just not quite at the level of a Corbin or South Laurel yet talent wise, but if they can keep a good nucleus of these kids together throughout the summer they should progress by next year.

Good game from Corbin. Smith caught fire early, Manns played a heck of a game and Wilson made a nasty behind the back move for two. The big surprise was the Hendrickson kid tonight. I dont know how many points he had but a guy next to me said that he counted 12 or 13 rebounds in his limited action. He made some buckets and got to the line a lot so it wouldn't surprise me if he got a double double.

I know you got to keep things in check so it doesn't get out of hand and I do understand that a few words were shared between players. However, when a game is over by a few minutes in, surely you can let a couple fouls go. It seemed like the entire 4th quarter was free throws. Corbin would go down, get fouled, Williamsburg would go down, and get fouled. That was the longest quarter in the history of sports.

I thought the Hounds looked dominate in the third quarter. That was some of the best ball they have played in a long time. The sideshow was a distraction that was not neccessary, IMO. Good job Hounds keep up the effort and ball movement in the district finals and the 13th region.:thumb:

Corbin outrebounded the Burg, 50-22.

I see Corbin beginning to seperate themselves from the other teams in the 13th Region.

Good win Coach P, Coach West and Coach JMAC.

Both of Williamsburg’s top rebounders played limited minutes due to recent illnesses. You could tell that neither of the boys was at 100% last night. That and the fact that Williamsburg’s guards made a lot of turnovers made a huge impact on the game. IMO the game was officiated horribly. Not that the referees cost Williamsburg the game but they were really bad. In a close game, say between Corbin & South, they could have made a big difference in the outcome.

Totally agreement. It's ashamed that Mr. White felt like he needed to officiate the game by himself. I bet Whitley hates they had to pay for three refs. When it was clear that only Mr. White was needed.:irked:

I think the refs started calling it really close to prevent any problems after a couple of exuberant fouls from Williamsburg.

I think this is also what happened. Williamsburg administered a few whoppers there for a stretch.

 You got to be kidding me.

Redhounds roll.

No, it was pretty obvious.

When a coach loses his composure, players and fans usually follow suit. The officials had to call it tight to help prevent problems ensuing from either team.

Should they have not called the game tight all along:confused:Rules are rules right:confused:
