And he still went to TN... BOO

He went to TN because KY didn't offer. It would be different if he turned UK down.

I don't care how or why he got there. He still went to that school. Therefore, I don't like him.

PS.... no other major school offered either.

Just noticed this thread.

Will vote early and often.

Still say let the Vol faithful pull him through while we take care of our own.

KY boy or not, he was still on a team trying to beat the Cats at least twice a year. A walk on offer was made that would have turned into a scholly, and if he wanted to be at UK bad enough, he would have jumped on it. Instead, we have had 4 years of "Lofton Snubbed" shoved down our throats. At one point it got bad enough a while back that they had "Bruce Pearl Day" or something like that in Mason County. (Rupp rolled in his grave that day!)

Still say let the Vol faithful pull him through while we take care of our own.

What kills me is this... Why Bruce Pearl day? He didn't even recruit the kid!

KY isn't taking care of their own., if you ask me....R. Parker from University of Evansville is tied with Sarah Elliott and when you consider that UK has ten times as many students (27,000 compared to 2700), that's pretty sad.

That part about a walk on that would have turned into a scholarship...well there is no gaurantee of a scholarship, so why risk it, go for the sure thing.

As a parent, I would encourage my kid to take the sure thing, where I guess you would pass up a scholarship to another school to take a chance at UK. Unlike you I am not wealthy so I can't take that risk...an education is the most important thing to me when it comes to my kids and I'm going to take the sure thing.

We all know that you hate UT and Chris Lofton, but have you ever heard the term "quit beating a dead horse"? I know you pay to post......but we get it already. You're redundant, let it go. Maybe your time would be better spent trying to rally people to vote for Sarah Elliott instead of doggin' Chris.

Whatever, imo, Whatever. You keep your opinion, I'll keep mine. I'd say I'm not the only one that gets tired of the guy. I'll not change your mind, you'll not change mine.

IF this was, say, Tyler Smith or Joakim Noah, would you be wanting us to vote for the kid? I'd say no, and that is what I think about it now. Just because he is a KY kid does not mean we should rally around him when he plays for another state's team! I voted for Elliott a BUNCH of times. Yes, a guarantee of a scholly is better than a "maybe" scholly, but then a decision is made and you live with the results. SO, it appears that I may be beating a dead horse, along with ActionDan, but I really don't care. I'll support ours in Blue, and those that want to can support the Vols....

Simple as that!

And, besides that, should I really just blindly support somebody because they are from the state, IF I like them or not? Does that really make much sense?

We produced both great (Abraham Lincoln:D) and evil (Charlie Manson:madman:). Do I support Charlie just as much as Abe just because he's from the Bluegrass? NOPE!

( Just to clarify, before something is read into it:

I am not comparing Lofton to Charlie by a long shot, just saying you pick the ones you support from your state based on your individual belief. Cats are Cats, Vols are somebody else's problem!:D)

You do have your opinon and I do respect that as should everyone else. I don't like TN either, but I have known Chris from his 10th Region playing days. I know him as a person and a player. That is why I support him. There has been a lot said about Chris here on the BGP that would make a lot of people dislike him and that is not his fault. I guess him not getting your vote is not hurting him in the polls. Just keep your vote coming for Sarah.

Do you feel the need to get on every Chris Lofton thread and say bad things about him? You got on the thread I posted about that nice video and feature story they did about him, and it was meant to be a positive thread until you come along and start bashing Chris. Yes, you have the right to read and post anything you want on here, but please, give it a break. It's getting old, annoying and childish.

I don't care how or why he got there. He still went to that school. Therefore, I don't like him.

Yeah no other major school offered, his college career must be a joke, right? I mean, seriously, he hasn't done anything for TN, and isn't top 5 on the 3-point list of all time or anything. It's not like he has made more 3's in the SEC than anyone in history either...I mean seriously, what has this kid accomplished?

No major school offered other than Tennessee, but that doesn't take away from his success. I don't care who offered, Tennessee did, and he took it, and what a player he has become. I mean, you all are downing him because he didn't go to UK...well he didn't really have that option! We all know Tubby didn't want him, so there it is...end of story. He went where he belonged, and he has had an excellent college career. Give the poor boy a break!

Last post I'll ever make on Lofton, good or bad, just for you, kysportsfan4life. I'll bite my tongue when I see the threads from now on, so here goes nothing:

(BUT, childish and annoying (in your words), you keep reading and replying to the posts...????.....We'll have to agree to disagree :thumb:.)

I am sure he is a great person and a credit to KY (seriously), but when he puts on that UT orange, he ceases to be a rep for the Commonwealth for at least a couple of hours. (He is a resident of the great state of TENNESSEE at that point.) He may be from KY, but he is a TN product on the sports stage now.

Done and Done, Kysportsfan4life. Have a good afternoon and life.
