doomer Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 FCHS had plenty of chances to pull this one out, but couldn't find a way.
thewaterboy Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Montgomery Wins!, Stephens plays big!....anyone have the stats? Why did Chalk get tossed? I knew it would be a barnburner!
FANOFTHE11th Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Chalk got two technicals. One for arguing with a call just before halftime and the second for standing up after he got the first. I believe the reason for him standing was because #10 for MC (Stull?) took a blatant cheap shot below the waist at #50 for Franklin. This fired up Franklin Co. and the game got very physical. Franklin took a late lead by 1 but couldn't keep it because they were still in their scramble-mode. Montgomery hit free throws and Franklin Co. didn't.
thewaterboy Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 With Franklin playing all these big teams tough they are writing a heck of a resume for next year!
FANOFTHE11th Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Yes next year should be great for this team with no seniors. But they need to focus on now and playing more consistent.

Stull did something like that earlier in the year against Russ Middleton. He is a very dirty player.
FANOFTHE11th Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Stull did something like that earlier in the year against Russ Middleton. He is a very dirty player. The two players had a collision and both fell but it was clearly unintentional. On the way up Stull hit #50 right in the baby maker.
STRIKE3 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Has Stephens narrowed down his college choices.
doomer Posted February 8, 2008 Author Posted February 8, 2008 Union College was there to look at him tonight.
STRIKE3 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 What are his choices?I'll not name specific schools but I know of one, out of state that I've talked with about Stephens.
Plato Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 The two players had a collision and both fell but it was clearly unintentional. On the way up Stull hit #50 right in the baby maker. The refs let this one get WAY out of hand. Franklin Co's #50 was sent in with one thing in mind - be as physical as possible. He fouled every posession. He intentionally punched Stephens in the face on one shot. I buy that his collision with Stull was unintentional, but his laying on top of him for several seconds was not. Stull was out of line, but if the refs don't have control of the game, things like this happen. The worst part was that after the whole incident happened. Coach Chalk is walking off the floor, the refs are over by the table and #50 is walking toward Stull ready to fight and NONE OF THE REFS SEE IT. It was an ugly game to watch because of how physical it was. I'm really surprised that it didn't end up in an all out brawl.
Plato Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Montgomery Co Clark with 28 pts and 12 rbs. Stephens with 18 pts and 8 rbs. Stull with 8 pts, 5 rbs Rash with 12 pts, 8 rbs Hendrix 2pts Gibbons 2 pts Combs 2 pts Franklin Co Jannels 3 pts Hicks 7 pts, 9 rbs Conner 7 pts, 3 rbs Hall 12 pts 4 rbs Meyer 5 pts, 3 rbs McKee 5 pts, 2 rbs Donovan 17 pts, 6 rbs Watkins 11 pts, 4 rbs
Plato Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Rash did a great job on #22 Meyer, holding him to 2/18 shooting including 1/9 from the three. Montgomery outrebounded Franklin Co. 45-38
