First March Madness Projections

Featured Replies

Wow. They are projecting only 4 teams from the ACC, the #1 ranked conference in RPI.

Surprising would be if they were in at this point.

Best case right now is working themselves onto the bubble (assuming they don't with the SEC tourney).

6 SEC teams in is surprising though. (UT, Miss St, UF, Ole Miss, Vandy, Ark)

I will say if there are 6 SEC teams in, UK will be one of them.

It's not like they really don't have many big time schools this year. They have Duke, UNC and then several good teams. But there isn't really a bad team in the conference overall. Last I saw Virginia had the worst conference record and they are a pretty solid ball club. They beat each other up.

Duke behind UNC and UCLA at this point? I'm not saying Duke is as good as these two but they have a better resume at this point imo. I would love thier draw though because their top teams in their region if I read it correct would be UCLA, Indiana, Butler, Drake, and Rhode Island.

UK does not deserve to be in right now. But if they finish these last 11 games at least 8-3 and win a game or two in the SEC tournament, they will be in.

Agreed. :thumb:

BEast leading the way with seven...Cards coming in as a 6 seed. :ylsuper:

UK winning the SEC Tournament is a possibility...especially if they could get in a bracket opposite of Tennessee and the big orange get beat out. Tennessee is the only team in the conference that I feel like UK is at a big disadvantage against when it comes to personnel...I know we beat them but they're a better team. If UK could avoid them in the conference tourny (assuming we can get healthy and develop some chemistry with a full roster), they match up pretty well with the rest of the conference.

And no, I'm not an overoptimistic UK fan...I just don't think the SEC is that strong. Tennessee is clearly the best team in the conference...after that, a healthy UK team's chances are comparable to anyone else. That means it wouldn't surprise me if UK lost in the first round, won the tournament or finished anywhere in between.

Yeah.. but thats only like 10% of the conference.

 True story.

If UK can manage only 2-3 losses they should be in. Last resort will be hope for a good draw in the tourney and win it.

And depending on the rest of their season could go as high as a 3 seed or fall as low as a 10 seed......

That goes for pretty much everybody on that list...
