Corbin 64 North Laurel 42

Featured Replies

Final.

Hounds trailed 13-8 early, led 30-20 at halftime , and pulled away in the second half. I figured this one would be a bit closer with it being at North.

A good effort from the Hounds, some nice passing as well............may have caught North Laurel a little tired though.

Little suprised at this score. Sounds like Corbin is being the 13th regions version of dr jekyll and mr hyde.

How did J. Crawford play? Is he rounding himself into shape?

I don't know if Corbin is the Jekyll and Hyde, I think North Laurel is just struggling right now. This was a very good, competitive game until less than an minute in the half. North Laurel can play some ver bad basketball for long stretches.

I thought Crawford still looks a LONG way from contributing in the manner that Corbin is used to. IMO - He and Johnson both had off nights and Corbin still manhandled NL.

My "favorite" in the 13th is South Laurel. I think that at the moment, their play is heads and shoulders above the rest of the 13th.

Dont get carried away, just because South caught Corbin flat and handled them a week or two ago doesnt all of a sudden mean they are head and shoulders above everyone else in the Region. All teams have their highs and lows with South looking currently like they have improved a lot, but dont even try to tell us they are head and shoulders better than anyone else in the Region, that is just not true.

South looks like the dominate team in the 13th at the present. Upcoming games with Knox will tell us all more about the Cards. Coach Wright is a genius when it comes to preparing his teams for March runs.

If you don't believe Bubba....................just ask Coach Wright. The entire South staff does a good job.

I would think that the kids at Corbin are chomping at the bit to get another shot at South Laurel.

Corbin's defense was superb last night. Limited North Laurel to 2-of-17 shooting in the second quarter.

The Jags are struggling.

I agree about Crawford, he's still not fully back to his old self yet but if he can get there come regional tournament time then Corbin will be a tough out.

I wouldn't go as far as to saying that South Laurel is "head and shoulders" above the rest of the 13th.

I agree. The old man on the Bench for SL does not get enough credit for the job he does in preparing the teams and the defensive strategies he brings to the table. Corbin will get atleast 1 more chance.

I think South is my favorite at the time as well. But of course we know teams can cool off or heat up in a hurry in February!

They are snarling even!:fight:

The one thing South usually does is peak at the right time.

South Laurel is the region champ til someone beats them out of the district and regional tournaments. Coach Wright is a wise man and he knows how to get a team to gel at the right time. The Cardinals are obviously not as talented as recent years but have positioned themselves as one of the front runners to represent the 13th region in the Sweet 16 again this year. The one constant is the bench. No one can argue against that.
