Final score at the 10th Region All A Classic at Paris.

Paris jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back. They led 25-9 at the break and extended that lead to as much as 26 in the second half before winning by 22. After falling behind 10-0 the closet Bracken came after that was 14-5.

Allana Aherns led Bracken with 5 and Emily Hinkson led Paris with 13 points and 12 rebounds!

Tough Loss for the Lady Bears. Keep your heads up. Congratulations on a good Class A tourney. Just wasn't meant to be tonight. Paris played very well this evening and showed why they have won the last 5 10th region Class A titles, they are a very good basketball team. Good Luck to the Lady Hounds in Richmond, represent the 10th region well.

Lady Hounds do it again. Good job and good luck.

The Lady Bears beat two teams that they have to beat regularly(Nicholas and Deming), but they have to get out of the mindset of settling for second place before the game has started and compete with teams like Paris. Happy for them that they got second place, but dissapointed with this score and the way the game started out.

Paris showed once again that there is them in the 10th region All A and then there is everyone else.

Congrats to the Lady Hounds and good luck in the State tourney. I'm sure you will represent the tenth very well. For the Lady Bears, thanks for an exciting run in the tourney. Keep you heads up - still a lot of ball to play.

How many in a row for Coach Brooks and his Lady Hounds?

How many in a row for Coach Brooks and his Lady Hounds?

Five and his record in the All A 10th is 15-0! :ylsuper:

If the Lady Hounds win it again next year I think that would tie the Lady Mustangs from Brossart when Coach Kues was coaching there. I believe they won 6 in a row and that is the 10th region record!!

15-0 and in the 10th Region All "A" Classic is unbelievable!

Bishop Brosart won five All-A 10th region titles in a row from 1997-2001 and also won in 2003 so the the Lady Mustangs have won the region six times. I do not think they ever won in any other region before joining the 10th Region in the 1990's. Paris interrupted the Bishop Brosart string in 2002 by winning the region and has won it consecutively since 2004 giving the Lady Hounds the All-A 10th region championship five years in a row and six of the past seven years. That means the two schools have an equal number of titles and consecutive championships.

The Lady Hounds represented the 10th region in the KHSAA Sweet Sixteen four times from 1977-1980 and again in 2004. The Paris team was KSHAA state finalist in the 1977 championship, losing the crown by two points to Laurel County. Beth Wilkerson from Paris was Miss Kentucky Basketball in 1979.

Through the 2006-2007 season, Paris High School is the fifth-winningest school in Kentucky girls basketball history with 534 wiins since the 1974 season (the modern era of girls basketball in Kentucky).

Bishop Brosart has won one All-A State Championship and also produced one Miss Kentucky Basketball.

Both schools have tremendous history in girls basketball to be sure!

Oops. Make that Paris is the sixth-winningest team in KY girls basketball history. A little gremlin must have typed "fifth" when I intended it to be "sixth."

Congrats to the LadyHounds. Good Luck in Richmond. Go #23.

Didn't you leave out #12? How can you wish one sister well and not the other?;)

Exactly! Please forgive me #12.
