I'm not surprise at the small crowd ... have you guys seen what type of crowd Lex Cath brings to the girls' state tournament? Parents and a few students ... 15 at best ... a big school like that and they don't support girls basketball ... what a shame! As far as Mason goes, they had a long way to travel and since the game started at 6 ... they do have an excuse ... if it had been in Maysville I know their crowd would've been bigger!

Probably not much bigger...

Is she a key player for Catholic?

Yes! She is their 3rd leading scorer and is a two year starter. Catholic will need her healthy if they want to make a run at a state title.

Hey now, we bring a few more then 15. I've made it to almost every game for Lex Cath's girls this year though and you are right, its the parents and a few family friends usually.

The crowds have not been there for the girls games all season, take the band out of the stands and a lot of times the visiting team matches the home team crowd.

Novosel hasn't been finishing well of late from the couple games I've seen. When she is on top of her game I think Lex Cath is unstoppable. Glad to hear that Bree had a good game last night. She can be a fun player to watch. Also heard Lex Cath's bench gave some good minutes of solid play last night.

Hope Maggie gets back for the Knights, heard she is out for a week after the surgery. She splits time w/ Green as the Lady Knight's point guard in control of the offense. Also has a pretty good shot from deep which helps. Sounds like Lex Cath had a tough game last night and responded well with the win.

As bad as Mason hit from the outside, they were still within striking distance throughout the game. As far as the conditioning, its between the ears, mental and something that if they want to accomplish goals in March will have to forget. When your 4 points down to the top ranked team, you don't get tired, you reach down and get something extra.

I completely agree with the mental aspect, and if you add in ...

I would also like to say something about the attendance tonight at the girls game. It was amazing to see the difference in the crowds from the girls game to the boys game. I think its an injustice to the girls, one that they notice, and one certainly I believe that they don't appreciate. I guess some things just never change and never will.

a bigger crowd, maybe they could feed off some noise to get some momentum, especially only down four. That's when things would get loud, at say, the Fieldhouse. That being said, it was definitely a shame to see the crowd discrepancy.

Why do you all think crowd attendance is down for girls games?
