No one is blaming anyone here just lobbying for enough time for Coach to establish a program. But if the recent past is an indication something is not working. I am sure when a coach is hired the thought is more than a season. So I do not know where the problem lies, just hope Coach Noble changes the recent past.

I think most of the problems have stemmed from "off-the-court" issues from past coaches. Coach Noble is a good teacher, person, and coach. I think the first two mean as much or more at OCHS than the latter. Hopefully, Coach Noble will want to stay and raise his family in Booneville.

Pierson did play against the Wolves last night. The thing about Wolfe County this year is the fact that they can go 10 deep. A lot of teams can't do that, so far this year Wolfe County has not started the same line up twice. Right now the team has 4 kids averaging double figures, that is a great stat for any coach or team.

The way I see it everyone has an opinion. The other coaches that have been at Owsley Coubty had there reasons for leaving be they right or wrong. Every coach and every fan never see eye to eye all the time thats part of coaching if you can't take that then perhaps they need to get out of coaching. I am at Owsley everyday and I have never heard coach Noble say anything about leaving and I hope he don't because he is first a good teacher, basketball teams are going to come and go. He knows it is going to take awhile for Owsley to get back on top. The guard position in my opinion is the problem on this team too, no true point guard. I also don't think that Evans is a point guard, but that is my opinion. Good things happen to players and coachs alike that work hard and I think coach Noble and his staff will work it out.

I like Coach Noble and hope he gets a chance to stay, but the faithful haven't shown much patience the last few years. Coach's come and go yearly at Booneville and to build a program there needs to be stability.

I believe that the coaches over the last four years have left on their own. Coach Noble is a great person and is extremely knowledgeable about basketball and I believe he will build a great program at Owsley. The faithful knows that it takes time to build a strong program and also that over the last 5-6 years the changes have hurt the program. I know I believe in Coach Noble and the Owls and I'm not going to give up on them just yet!!!! The season has only been going on for 3 weeks, so it's to early to tell what this team will look like come tournament time - 8 weeks away!!!!!.

Coach Noble and Owsley will be fine. It is true that the future looks good at the middle school level. Owsley needs a point guard, that has been the problem the last two years. They do not a have anyone that can be a true floor leader. It is also early in the season. Nobody cares what happens during the regular season anyway. Last years team didnt win many games, However the Owls came up big and sent Lee County, one of the 14 region favorites home early in the district.

It's December--and you are talking about coaches leaving or staying. Owsley County has high expectations ---and so does Coach Noble. Anyone that knows basketball knows the Owls --even though the roster is composed mostly of seniors--currently have limited resources for guard positions and lack of experience in other positions. McIntosh did not play as a 10th grader--Reed did not play much in 10th and 11th grade--Evans is only a sophomore with limited experience handling the ball--but a lot of athleticism. A good point guard would make the Owls --IMO a winning team.--without one--they will struggle-- And by the way--Coach Noble is a class act ---he has proven he can win at the middle school level--and he will do the same at the high school level in Booneville given time---Keep the faith Owl fans, players and coaches!!!! Good things will come to those who are committed and dedicated to doing their best.

Didn't McIntosh play church league ball as a 10th grader?

Last season was the first full season Mcintosh has played at the varsity level!!!

I agree with Augger the problem for the owls is at the point guard position. They can't find no one with the ability to get the ball up the floor and handle the pressure without turning it over. Daniel Neely was the last good guard Owsley had! Also if owsley can't get the ball to Mcintosh and Reed in the middle they are not going to far very well. The Post is the bread and butter right now!
