Simon Kenton 62 Dixie 58 OT

Final in OT.

Let me say both teams play hard and represented their teams with class & respect.

To the game, Maegley won the battle between him and Mace. Maegley had 20 points and 8 rebounds. Mace had 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both are a load in the paint.

I have to say that I thought Coach Steiner did a great job tonight especially in the 2nd quarter when Maegley got his second foul and had to sit the entire quarter. Coach Steiner changed his defense up and went zone so that he wasn't in a mismatch with Mace. This really took Mace out of the offense in the quarter.

Dixie played without their star player in Kendall and SK did not play their's in Layne. This will be a great game when these two players can play for their respective teams.

Good luck to both teams.

I thought SK's defense did a great job taking Mace out of the game as well, but if I'm Dixie I still try to go to him every time. In their defense Mace does need to play stronger, he couldn't successfully post up the smaller SK defenders. A great game though. The Lawson boy hit a huge 3 to put Dixie up late, which I was happy for him because he struggled from outside tonight.

Sounds like I should've made the short trip down the road, instead of wasting 3 hours of my life by watching the Bengals.

I was reading my own post and got confused, but still, he needs to use that big body of his more to his advantage.

Good high school game. It was rough inside. I hope the one kid from Dixie is alright as he took quite a fall on his head. Likewise, Barnes fell really hard on his back in the fourth quarter as well but was able to return. Lots of jabbing by both teams going on if you looked close. Like stated, both teams didn't leave with anything in the tank. Several kids stepped up when they needed to deliver; I liked the guard play of SK tonight, especially defensively. Dixie made a lot of turnovers on the perimeter throwing the ball to nobody.

Meagley played well, I like to see him playing aggressive. He got fouled with .07 left and went 1 of 2 from the FT to put the game into OT.

I like Nate Ponzer at point guard for Sk. He ran the team great tonight.

and for Dixie,

They'll have better nights, they had a rough shooting night as a team. Tt was impressive to see Lawson have the confidence to hit the big three towards the end of regulation after not having much success the rest of the game.
