Mason Co was in charge from the start. Russ had a career high in points and had a great game. I think he had 25 points.

I was very impressed with Mason Co.'s young men coming off the bench and handling a ( defensively ) very irritated and aggressive Scott team.

 

They have a circus of small guards that can handle the ball and actually score.

Thanks,From Pikeville the Royals travel to Covington to spend the night and then fly out to Hawaii Sunday Mourning for a week.Then back to KY and 2 days later off to Lexington for the 5/3 Holiday.:scared:

Up 48-23 at half, Mason scored the first 9 points of the second half to go up by 34 before calling off the dogs. Stopped pressing and played a bit of a 3-2 with Darius and Setty down low.

 

Lots of PT for some of the younger guys tonight; I think that the starters may have averaged around 20 minutes apiece. Several unfamiliar names will be in the box score.

 

As Highfield said, it was a little sloppy in the early going with Scott getting a few decent looks; but when the press got set after a MC score it was very tough for Scott to advance the ball up the court. Simply a case of a very talented MC team playing a young and inexperienced squad who battled the whole night.

I don't get too many thumbs up's. !
