Two wrestlers similar in their importance to WWF/E.

 

Hulkster brought the major attention to WWF in the 80's and they rode his back to stardom.

 

When WWF began to struggle, it was Stone Cold Steve Austin that carried them on their back and led to WWE defeating WCW in the Monday Night battles.

 

Both had runs in WCW that nowhere matched their success in WWF/E.

 

Both are not the greatest ring workers but created pandomonium when they enter the arena to their music that immediately brings the fans to their feat.

 

Great matchup here and the winner of this matchup will be the favorite to be the eventual overall winner.

I choose Austin. I liked Austin, Hogan annoyed me.

I believed Austin in his role. Hogan's came across as a role.

With the writers playing no role I'll take Austin

If we throw writers out the window, I give it to Hogan. Neither one could wrestle and Hogan was in WAY better shape at his peak. Besides, Austin had two bad knees during most of his title reigns.

Austin is my all-time favorite, I cant bet against him.

Wait...let me just say, I'm terribly disappointed that Mick Foley didn't make the tourny.

 

Now, back to the match...Stone Cold opens a can of "whoop ???" on Hogan and beats him down.

I thought long and hard about Mick. And probably should have put him in place of Big Show against Hogan in the first round.

Working on it. PM with your suggestions. It is harder to pick 16 tag teams. I am leaving out some very good teams.

If you had set these guidelines a few rounds ago this should have been a different matchup. That said this is just as hard for me to pick as the Hogan vs. Hart matchup.

I did set those guidelines. First match I posted, I said choose the winner base upon whatever guidelines you want. Like the presidential debate, choose the one you want to win.
