Oak Hill-St. Benedict in Marshall Co Hoopfest

Yes it is, I believe they said something about it being in Louisville next year, maybe Jim Schue caught that?

I heard the same thing. I guess that's the Old Spice Challenge, which was an add-on for the Marshall Co. Hoopfest this year.

The Marshall Co. Hoopfest is an every-year thing and they generally get a bunch of out-of-state teams and quality KY teams to play in it. South Laurel was in it a couple of years ago the year following their state title.

westsider must've been sleeping on this one. Or, more likely, he was probably at the game. :D

Now that you mention it I remember when South Laurel was a part of this.

Great exposure for KY basketball!

The game might have been in Kentucky, but I would think that it was better exposure for New Jersey and Virginia basketball.

That's true, however, they did mention the area a lot, and even mentioned the head coach of Marshall County (I think that's the school) and his son who unfortunately has an inoperable brain tumor. Many of the fans in attendance and even some of the players from both schools wore yellow t-shirts that read "Gunner - I think I can I think I can," so it wasn't a complete loss for KY.

Bingo ;)

Also somebody should point out to ESPN that the game is being played in Draffenville, not Benton.

The official mailing address of the school is Benton, but the school is closer to Draffenville.

There's very little "Virginia" about Oak Hill except for the fact that they practice there about once or twice a week.

Was anyone else not impressed by Brandon Jennings? I know this is one game and he definitely flashed signs of brillance but it looked to me like he has a bad attitude, did anyone else notice this?

I know, but I didn't think I could spell mercenaries that late at night. Might not be able to this morning either. Probably should go with rent-a-players.

Yeah, you got the feeling he could take over any time he wanted to. Made some really impressive plays. I didn't get to see the whole thing, but my buddy was telling me the same thing you noticed about attitude issues.

Not Samuels, but the other big boy for St. Benedict's looked pretty good last night. Samuels did too, but just wanted to make sure everybody knew I wasn't saying Samuels didn't look good.

Both big men for St. Ben's looked pretty good last night, and one of them is only a junior.

The junior is the one I am talking about. Seemed like he was 6-8 or 6-9 and about 235 or 240.
