Is there a changing of the guard in the 13th? I keep hearing a lot of good things about Corbin, for example, but I really didn't expect North to handle South.

 

If Dalton continues to play well and stay out of foul trouble, North can definately be a region contender. They have a lot of depth and athleticism this year and for the next few years as North also won the JV game last night.

South Laurel is still a pretty good team, but without Proffit, Hammonds, and Smith, they are not a dominant one like they last few years. One look at their schedule, and its easy to see that Coach Wright probably agrees.

 

Teams had better get them this year, IMO they are going to be better the next couple of years.

Corbin, Knox Central, North Laurel, Jackson County, South Laurel, Pineville, Clay County and Middlesboro will have something to say about it as well.

The past two years many believed South would run away with the region and they won the past two region title games by one and two points.

This year's region tourney has a chance to be the best in a long time.

Every first round game should be a good one, and the funny thing is, we're only two weeks into the season.

Also, gotta pat myself on the back. Had Seidel ranked thrid best player in the region, while other publications didn't even mention him.

He's one of the most underrated players in the state.

With Coach Wright along with the remaining talent up there that will just get better as the year progresses, South will still be a legit player come crunch time. With that said, Corbin and Cumberland have been pretty impressive so far without star caliber players. Once Crawford returns for Corbin and Leisge and Wilson returns for Cumberland, they'll be the two that seperates themselves from the rest of the pack on paper.However, games aren't always played on paper. It's all speculation at this point in time.

I think that's what I said about Corbin in response to someone saying they were better than last year. I still think Corbin is the favorite in the 13th Region, with Cumberland second, which is what I said last March.

As I said in another post, anyone could win the 13th this year. Cumberland will not run away with it nor will any other thing.

Does the guy that wears Rec Specs still play for NL? If so, the last time I watched him play (2 years ago), he played harder than anybody out there & was one of the best players NL had.

NL didnt have a player with rec specs 2 years ago. Seidel wears them now, but this is his first year wearing them, and last season was his first at NL
