Featured Replies

Estill comes up a point short to perenial powerhouse, Perry County Central. Sounds like it was quite an exciting game.

Anyone have any stats or take on the game?

I didn't think Hatcher's teams ever scored over 49???

Well, they have only scored below 52 once in their first 4 games...so I guess you can throw that out the window.

It takes a while to implement a new system.;)

And it only takes a day to start a new one. :jump:

Regardless of what style they play Coach Hatcher should have the Commodores set to challenge for a district and even regional title. I am excited to see how they play against Coach Holland now that he will be calling the plays from the opposite bench. Tuesdays not far off, so it wont be long til we find out.

Estill makes a good showing. They may be the sleeper in the 14th this season.

Within the 14th region, Scarface. Perry County always has two regional contenders in PCC and Hazard. Year in, year out.

Tough break having the game sent to OT on a half court shot. It shows though that Estill should be able to compeat with, if not beat any team in the region. I feel, at this point, they are the clear favorite to win the 56th and will be a team that no one will want to play come regional tournament time.

Napier is having a big year for the Engineers scoring wise. He has done great filling the shooting void left by Berryman's graduation.

The folks at WYMT Sports Overtime need to get a little more balanced in their reporting. I watched the highlights of this game and they showed mostly PCC hitting 3's and highlighted Commodore players, saying very little about Estill. I said to myself, "Wow! they've beaten Estill to death." Then, toward the end of the report they said, "But Estill wouldn't go away, and Perry Central won in overtime."

So, I called a person this morning who was at the game, and they said Estill led for most of the 2nd half, and PCC had to hit a 3 from almost center court, a bank shot, to tie it and send it into OT. You would have never known this from the newscast.

Yeah, Professor I know what you mean. We dont get WYMT in Irvine but you really see the same thing with WLEX, WKYT, WTVQ and all the Lexington networks. Whenever it is Dunbar, Bryan Station, Catholic, or whoever they are showing the recap from they show nothing but the clips from the Lexington team. I remember seeing a Dunbar recap where it showed Dunbar running, executing passes, and draining some long range shots. In the end, the announcer said simply "But Dunbar falls 75-49" or whatever the final blowout score was.

That happens all of the time on TV. I would bet that the shooter at the game had to cover another game or two.

They can only stay at games for a matter of minutes. They can only get severals baskets before they have to leave and go to the next game.
