November 29, 200718 yr Author Hansbrough plays so hard which makes him a bear and if he toned it down a bit, he would still be pretty doggone good. I agree. Like I said, "useless" was the wrong word but he wouldn't be a First Team All-American if it weren't for how hard he played the game. Some of these other extremely athletic players around the country can put it in cruise & still be amazing but Tyler has to be full throttle the entire game to do the same.

November 29, 200718 yr I think TH will have a long career in the NBA...may not be a superstar...but has chosen the right path to continue to work on his game. He has some skills that are overshadowed by his work ethic. If he would have made the jump he would not have the greatest impact...staying in school will only help him. Look at Brandon Wright...he was thisclose from being sent to the NBDL. He cant consistently make a shot past 15 feet. He made the jump and should have stayed.

November 29, 200718 yr Saw Williams play in Atlanta two weekends ago. Some think he is beginning to emerge. Some still say he has a long way to go. Looks totally different from when I saw him at UNC-Chapel Hill. He played a very good game, but it is almost as if he is in pain when he walks.

He would not have went ahead of either of them if he would have came out simply because he is not an NBA talent & was definitely not an NBA talent after one year in college. He is the JJ Redick of big guys. How many minutes is JJ getting nowadays??? "A little research" & you would have known that...

There are a handful of guys who are like Hansbrough that get major clock and are not overly athletic and get by with some skill and filling a role...see Chuck Hayes with the Rockets.

November 29, 200718 yr I'm interested to hear this one. The only point I see is that if he was coveted he would have been at the next level from day one. Like I said earlier. There is a reason he's still at UNC. And I'm glad he is. A joy to watch at this level... Have you checked the 2008 Mock drafts lately? I know most of them probably aren't as qualified to evaluate NBA talent as yourself, but a few of them seem to think Hansbrough will get drafted fairly high. IF he comes out, that is.
